Prologue

"I'm searching for something that I can't reach"

Permanency. Another word for utter bullshit.

Why, you may ask me. Why would you hate a such a word? A word that is known for having such a strong and comforting meaning.

Well, some people forget that every word can have a good and bad meaning, depending on many conditions. There are the words around it that can influence it's denotation and, therefore affect it as a whole. There are also the people who may use that word, for a certain purpose to their advantage and persuade you to think a certain way of that word, whether you realize it or not.

Permanency however, I've come to believe is the worst word of them all, because it is what gave birth to lies. Well, let me tell you now.

There is no such thing.

And then here comes those of you who will try to argue. The ones who scavenge the tiny light of hope they believe is still shining through the darkness.

But love, nothing can stay with you forever. Lights dim, colors fade, and to be blunt, every one around you will die eventually. The End.

Don't tell me things are permanent, when I had my family taken away from me, when I was only 8 years old. When I barely could hear the word stupid without gasping because I thought it was a forbidden. When I pronounced library, li-berry, because I didn't have anyone to correct me. When family was the one thing that everyone promised I would always have, forever, with me.

Actually, scratch all of that. Maybe there is one thing that is permanent.

Death.

...Or so I thought.

The pic is me, and that's how I imagine the main character. Not my face or personality, but the hair color, and the type of thing I'm wearing. Which is why I blurred out my face (that, and BC I didn't wanna blind you guys lmao.)
