Charlotte's Point of View

I honestly don't know what to think at this point. And to think that I wasn't going to have any high school relationship drama. Henry is a great friend and isn't too bad to look at, but I just don't know what there is to do after what just happened in the Man Cave. Maybe Henry was feeling a little desperate and thought that he could just come on to the closest girl to him. Or maybe, he wanted to work on his spontaneity and challenge himself to do something daring like kissing one of his best friends. Maybe he just likes me.

I don't know and I don't think I'll ever truly know. I just need to get that off my mind. I'm just going to go for a walk and clear my head. I get dressed and grab my headphones and iPod then head down stairs.

As I'm walking around the neighborhood, I remember all the good memories I've had Henry. I don't know if I could call that Man Cave situation a good or bad memory. I never thought of Henry in a romantic way since we were in elementary school.

Flashback

It was in third grade and Henry and I were the best of friends. I had a little crush on him and didn't have the ability to hide it. It's safe to say but I basically was his lapdog. I followed him everywhere and did everything he asked me to. There were times when I got little sleep because I was helping Henry with his homework.

Being as it may, Henry never had a clue that I liked him. Not until one day at recess. Henry and I were swinging on the swings just talking.

"Hey Char, what do you want to do today?"

"I don't know. What do you want to do today?"

"Char, I don't know. What you want to do today?"

"I don't know. What you want to do today?"

We both burst into laughter over our stupid inside joke. We both were obsessed with Spongebob at that time and that was one of our favorite moments from the show. Afterwards, we get off the swings and walk over to the sand box. We play in the box for a little until notice some sand on Henry's nose.

"You got some sand on your face Henry," I said as pointed to the spot on my face.

He kept on rubbing the wrong spot on his face. I got tired of watching him struggle so I wiped it off his nose myself. That's when I started to get weird.

"You're so cute," I sighed letting my feelings get the best of me.

"What Char?" Henry asked completely confused.

At that time in my life, I was able to express myself and my feelings more than I do now. So I repeated what I said.

"I said you're cute."

"Are you joking?"

"Nope."

"So you like me?"

"Yeah."

"Like like me?"

"Yes I like like you."

"Okay."

I didn't know how to react when he said that, but I didn't have to because that's when Lisa showed up. She was prettiest girl in the third grade and I overheard Henry talking about her with Jasper.

"Hey guys!" Lisa said.

"Hey Lisa." Henry and I said in unison.

"I wanted to if you wanted play kickball with me," Lisa said to Henry.

"Sure. Char you wanna come?"

"Not really. I'm still making my sand castle."

"Come on Char. It's just one game." Henry pleaded.
