---Emily's POV---
I was watching Rosie sleep. She looked so peaceful. The conversation we just had was nervewrecking for me, I could only imagine what it did to a nine year old girl. I looked up at the clock, it read five o'clock. Niall should be here in a bit.
I leaned over to kiss Rosie Posie on the forehead. Her breathing was normal, meaning she was not having any complications during her sleeping stages. Which was a definite good thing.
"Goodnight my Rosie Posie." I whispered. Tucking her in a bit more under the covers, I gave her hand one small squeeze before leaving the room. I walked out toward the empty hall, almost tripping over the empty chair next to the door. I stretched my neck to see if anybody else was around. While putting Rosie to sleep, I thought I heard someone running, the soles of their shoes hitting the tile with every step.
"Who moved you over here?" I asked the chair, dorky I know. I picked up the chair and moved it farther away from the door. The hall was silent. No emergency sirens, no screaming... This meant everyone was ok, this was good.
My tear stained cheeks gave hint to the receptionist that me and Rosie had an emotional and spiritual moment. She looked at me with a sympathetic smile. She knew how close I had grown to Rosie.
"Bad day?" The elderly lady, Martha, asked quietly. Her solid maroon scrubs hung loosely on her body. She had been working here for many years. In the two months I have met her, I've come to know that she is like a grandmother. Not only to the children, but the nurses and volunteers as well.
"She's afraid of....dying Martha." I shook my head, looking towards the floor, I could hardly bring myself to say the word. That one word scared me so much. I would be completely terrified if I knew my time was coming up soon. I always try to steer away from thoughts like this, but when it involves somebody that is so close to my heart, it gets hard to ignore.
"She'll be okay love. Doctor says she accepted the treatment very well." She gave a soft smile while nodding her head. Her voice was comforting with every word that slipped from her mouth. I could sense the 'Grandmother' vibe kicking in. I needed it.
"Oh by the way, did that boy meet up with you?" Her question made my face turn into confusion.
"What boy?" I asked, my eyebrows scrunched up.
"Some boy came in and said he needed to see you."
"Well Mrs. Martha, I need to know who this guy is. He could have been my prince charming and you let him slip away without a name?!" I joked with her. Giving her a small wink as I spoke, she giggled.
"He was very handsome darling, The way his eyes shined bright when he said your name told me he was a keeper," she winked back. Aww Niall was so sweet. I giggled at her sillyness.
"Ohhh Niall, he must have came in to wait for me. I'll call him right now. Goodnight Martha." I waved to her and turned to dial Niall's number on my phone.
---Niall's POV---
Emily's calling me, her picture is flashing brightly on my phone's screen. I'm too nervous to answer. What if she's upset that I told Harry. It would crush me if she was upset with me. What if she never wanted to speak to me again for telling her secret??
I had to answer though, she was expecting me to be here. I slowly slid my phone towards the 'Answer' section of the screen. Bringing the phone to my ear, I stuttered a 'Hello'.
"Hey Niall, it's me, are you here already?" she sounded cheerful, did her and Harry make up?
"Ummm Y-yeah! I'm pulling up right now." I informed her, spinning the steering wheel to make a left turn.
