Chapter 20

June POV

I woke up to the sounds of the forest and a warmth beside me. I opened my eyes slightly to see the face of my brother and his pink hair tickling my nose. I nuzzled into him more to savor the moment, but unfortunately he woke up. He gave a big yawn lifting his arms high above his head then turned and put his arm around me.

"Morning Natsu." I said looking into his eyes with a slight smile, but it still didn't feel real yet.

"Hey, something wrong June? That glint you use to have is gone." He gave me a worried look.

"I was worse then this before you guys got here, so it's a start." I tried to convince him with my smile, but he didn't fall for it.

"Look, just take it slow you don't have to force yourself to do anything." He cooed to me as his hand slightly brushed my cheek.

"Thanks." I gave him a small smile and say up stretching my muscles and yawning. "I'm glad your back."

"Me too." He said while I helped him up. He wrapped his arm around my shoulder and I rested my head on his. It felt nice. A feeling I haven't felt in a long time.

Timeskip

We were back at the guild and everything seems to have calmed down a lot.

When I walked in I immediately got hugged by someone. I looked down and saw Romeo. I smiled and ruffled his hair.

"Hey, little bro sorry for running off yesterday. I didn't mean to worry you and the others." I gave him an apologizing look and he smiled up at me.

"It's fine. Just don't do it again big sis." Romeo and I bonded a lot the past seven years. He was like my little brother and I loved him. Then we just all of a sudden called each other that, so now that's how we refer to one another half of the time.

"Yeah we're all just glad you're back," Macao came up to me and squeezed my shoulder and I smiled at him, but it seemed that when I did that all the people that weren't stuck in time for seven years looked like they saw a ghost. "And we're also happy that you're smiling again."

The whole guild celebrated while they were chanting for Cana and me during our drinking contest. Over the years I've learned how to hold my liquor and it's come in handy at times. Most of the guild also participated, but we were the last. I heard a mix of our names being chanted while we stared each other down during the contest.

"How can two girls like you hold your liquor so well?" Laxus said with a slur and wavered a little.

"Well you gotta learn. It was one of the ways I got money while you guys were gone. Of course Macao and the others didn't like my methods very much, but money is money, and quite frankly we needed it." I said barely effected by the alcohol. I could feel some stares of pity and sadness towards me, but I'm used to it now.

"Are you sure that's alcohol 'cause you barely sound drunk. Actually you don't even look drunk at all." Cana slurred as she looked at me sluggishly. I could already tell that she was about to keel over.

"100% sure. This is alcohol. And I've learned a few tricks while you guys were gone." I smirked at her, and just as she took another sip she passed out. "Well, she certainly took longer to beat than the others I've gone against. I barely went through 5 to 10 bottles with them, but those were bottles, these are barrels of bear. Ten barrels or maybe 15. I don't know I lost track."

What was left of the conscious people in the guild looked at me shock. But to my shock Natsu was still awake.

"You know I thought you'd be asleep. By now Natsu." I looked at him feeling the sluggishness start putting its effect on me.

"I stayed awake to help you home. I had a feeling you'd need it." I gave him a grateful smile and held out my arms for him. Like I was a 5 year old girl saying "up" to her dad. Natsu came towards me then turned around and I slipped onto his back.

"Man, I'm gonna have a gigantic hangover tomorrow." I groaned.

"You barely looked drunk during the contest. It looked like you were chugging water not alcohol." Natsu chuckled as he shook his head.

"I said I could hold my liquor during the contest. I never said I could after. One of the main reasons why Macao found me in the alley sometimes. He would give me a full blown lecture every single time. I got. So. Tired... of...... it...." I drifted off into a peaceful darkness on Natsu's back. My second night with no nightmares.
