Racing The Wind
I climbed aboard my mount,
A grand chestnut thoroughbred,
With a beautifully arched neck,
And long graceful legs,
I kicked him along,
And headed to the meadow.
I rode astride the mighty beast,
Feeling his every movement,
Listening to the thundering of his hooves on the hard ground below.
All around me was a vast land of green,
Stretching as far as the eye could see,
The sun was rising in the distance,
Shooting up rays of gold,
As the wind swirled around them.
Accepting the silent challenge,
They galloped gallantly onward,
Flying through the grass,
Racing the wind,
My hair twirled and danced with great glee,
As the wind tried to overtake us,
But we pushed on,
The powerful horse lengthening his humongous stride,
They pulled ahead,
And the wind gave up,
And tired out,
But the mighty creature continued,
Praising his win,
In the honor,
Of racing the wind.
