The Dragonfly
A glorious dragon wandered about the land of Ireland,
He raised his magnificent head and roared his defiant call,
Breathing orange grasping flames.
He owned this land,
All of the wonders,
Were in his control,
He had everything he ever wanted.
But there was a little buzzing fly,
He was small,
Yet mighty,
And he wanted to set the land free,
And rid of the vicious dragon.
The fly came to the day where he challenged the great dragon,
And the dragon was angry,
He spat fire at the little fly,
But it was too quick for the clumsy beast.
The little fly led him up into the air,
They flew about grappling at each other,
At last,
After three days of endless battle,
They collided,
And there was a huge tremble and a burst of light and smoke seen all across Ireland,
No one saw a dragon,
Or a fly,
But something different,
It was a mixture between the two,
Some say they fought so hard they merged,
Some say they trapped each other in one body to continue the fighting from within,
But no matter which story was true,
That day,
A dragonfly came to be.
