"Fratello, what are you doing?" Lovino growled as I crawled into his bed that night.
"I missed you, Lovi. We all did."
"I-" Lovino turned slightly red. "I failed in my mission."
"Don't feel bad, Lovino. The mission turned out fine."
"No. I failed the mission to protect you. I failed to do what grandpa Vargas asked of me on his death bed."
"I'm okay, fratello. I wasn't injured at all."
"I know you Feliciano. There is no way you didn't cry at my funeral." The darker haired Italian brother burst into tears.
"I did. I cried for weeks. I cried harder than I did when Luddy died, and when Grandpa died, and all the times we've ever been out of pasta all put together. But it only made me stronger." I hugged my older brother tightly, patting his shoulder.
"I'm sorry, Feli." He croaked after he calmed down. "I feel so bad."
"It's alright." I curled up next to him and listened to his breathing until it slowed and my fratello was fast asleep.
