The weeks progressed, and long nights at McCartney's Pizzeria became a normality for Daniela. Her entire days during the week were spent at work and school. She was only ever home to take showers and sleep.

Weekends were a little different in that she only worked until the late afternoon. But while she was there on weekdays, she always had the closing shift -- meaning she and Mr. McCartney were often the only ones left at the shop. McCartney was no longer as harsh and Daniela was finally catching on to the norms of her workplace. She became close friends with the boy named Julian who was closest to her age and was friendly to her they day she first applied. Nicole was still not very friendly to Dani, but everyone else in the workplace grew to appreciate her presence.

But no one was as close to her as Mr. McCartney was. Mr. McCartney and Daniela eventually loosened up around each other on a personal level, and a definite bond was forming between them -- a bond much more intimate than a typical boss-employee relationship.

One night when they were alone with each other around midnight closing up the shop, Mr. McCartney asked Dani if she could mop the kitchen floor for him.

"Yes, Mr. McCartney," she replied, immediately heading towards the small closet across the room.

Mr. McCartney smiled out of appreciation of her politeness and diligence, but he felt at this point it was a little unnecessary. His desire for this young girl had only increased each day after their first meeting, and he couldn't accept her being solely another employee. He wanted Dani to feel comfortable around him, and he felt that they had reached the stage where they could become a bit more...friendly with each other.

"Dani, you know how I have a nickname for you?" Mr. McCartney asked, leaning his elbow against the countertop.

"Yes, why?" Dani replied.

"Well, as I told you before, my real name is Paul," Mr. McCartney reminded her. "You can call me Paul when we're alone, okay?"

Dani smiled to herself. "Okay...Paul."

It helped feeling a bit more like an equal to her boss -- especially since she was so attracted to him. Not like this simple gesture increased her chances of...being with him, but Dani liked to think that it did.

"So, Dani," Paul began as he watched her swish the mop back and forth, "what do you like to do when you're not here or at school?"

"Oh, well I love to sing and play guitar and...I just really love music," Dani told him, letting out a small laugh.

Paul's eyes lit up. "Really? What kind of music?"

"Well...I'm a bit of a Michael Jackson fan," Dani laughed, dipping the mop into the bucket. "But I like a lot of older stuff, too. Like from the fifties and sixties."

"Those were the days!" Paul exclaimed, standing up a little straighter. "Y'know, back then, my ol' buddy John and I had a band...we called ourselves the Quarrymen at first, then the Silver Beetles, then simply just the Beatles. We spelled it with an 'a' though, like 'beat' as in 'drum beat'."

"That's really cute!" Dani giggled. "You guys probably could have became famous or something...what happened?"

"Oh, well, we never really found ourselves a manager, so the band kind of just split up and..." Paul explained, shrugging. His words became a little quieter as he spoke, for he didn't to think about all of the terrible things that happened after that.
