Hey guys, so this is chapter three. About time right? It took me less than a week to write all of this, so please deal with the multiple grammar mistakes. I guess this chapter isn't going to be very exciting, but the next chapter is bound to be very mouth watering. So stay tuned and enjoy your lecture. PS: Thanks to @avengeur for giving me an honest opinion for this chapter (FOLLOW HER), and thanks to my readers for the nice comments and votes. It means a lot to me that you guys find my 'stuff' entertaining. Hehe, so i'll stop the ranting and get to the story. Laters, baby. xoxo -QND
I wake up to my phone ringing. I groan and struggle to open my eyes, but the ringing doesn't stop so I snap.
"WHAT?!" I shout at the phone, having no idea who would call at such a time.
"Phoebe, don't you dare take a tone like that to your own father," my dad says quietly on the other line. Crap, I just snapped at my dad.
"...Oh. It's you. Sorry dad." I yawn and stretch myself off of the couch. What's the use of having a room if i'm always sleeping on the couch?
"Well, it's good to see you're still alive. Why haven't you called lately? We've been worried sick." He says. Uh oh, he seems mad, and mad dad is bad. Ha, see what I just did there?
"Sorry, i've been busy.. with the moving and all."
"Understandable, but next time I highly recommend you to call at least once a week. You know you worry me, baby girl. You're still quite young, and you're way too independent. You have to depend on us sometimes you know, we're your parents." My dad says with a worried tone. That's dad, always worrying about everything.
"I know, but I hate asking for help. I like to depend on myself, dad. I'm 21 now for god's sake, you need to cut me some slacks. Besides, mom also left home at 21 and went to go live with Kate. Oh and not to mention i'm almost graduating. My dreams of taking moms place at Seattle Independent Publishing will soon to be realized." I say, calmly yet it's hard to stay calm while thinking about my dream job. I've always wanted to work there, writting articles and all of that mishap... My mom made it seem so easy, and easy is what i'm aiming for.
"Phoebe, I really don't want you working there. I've already told you many times, men over there are very fond of the personal assistants. Infact, your mom-"
"I know dad, mom was also in that situation. You've told me a gazillion times, Jack Hyde tried to kill her. But Jack Hyde is happily in prison now.. Well i'm not sure if he's happily in there, but you get the picture." I say, smiling over the phone.
"It's not a laughing matter," he sighs, and continues.
"Look Phee, mom and I would like it if you stopped by to see us after you've finished graduating, we miss you terribly." He sounds a little sad, but i'm not sure. You can never really tell what he's feeling.
"Sure thing dad. What about Ted? Doesn't he visit you guys atleast once a week?" I ask. I haven't heard from my brother in such a long time. I wonder how he's doing...
"Yes he does, but it's not the same. I want to see my baby girl as well, mom bought a lot of clothes for you by the way."
"She shouldn't have... You know I hate it when you guys spoil me." I sigh, getting up from the couch and I glance at our now finished house. It took us all night unboxing, but we've made it.
I head towards the counter and prepare myself a cup of coffee.
"I know sweetheart, you got that from your mother," He murmurs, and continues "Look, I have to go to work now, but I hope you'll find time in your busy schedule to come visit us." he says, and I hear him shift over the phone.
