"Is that it?" I asked.
"Yes, it is. Now, class, I want you to go-" the bell rang. "Stay!" he barked, then continued, "As I was saying, I want you to go out after school and see if you can find something of a Maoar. Be it a footprint, a scale, a fossil, a bone, or something of that nature. You might even find an egg that never hatched. I want you to bring in your findings. You will present them to the class. Class dismissed!" Everyone rushed out. Gym time.
I went through the rest of the school day in a daze. As I was walking out the door, I heard a voice yell at me.
"Comm! I said it wasn't over!" the voice yelled. I glanced behind me to see Set running toward me. I took off running. I had to get away.
"Okay, that's it! Now you're gonna get it!" he yelled, starting to run. Great. Just what I need. Did I mention that Set is also on the track team? I ran faster. As I was nearing the field that I cut through to get home, a rock whizzed by my head.
"Man, I missed him!" Joey said. Did I mention that Joey is pitcher for our school's baseball team and can pitch a 50 mph fastball?
Another stone whizzed by my head and hit the tree 15 feet in front of me. It stuck there. If that one hit me, I'd be brained for sure! Then I reached the field. The grass had been cut. That's a good sign. As I 'flew' across the field, I heard Joey say, "This one will get him for sure." Then I felt a pain in the back of my head. I fell to the ground. I put my hand to the back of my head. Didn't feel any stone, but when I looked at my hand, it was sticky with blood. My blood. The last thing I remember before passing out was Johnny saying, "Is he dead?"

"Is he dead?" asked Johnny, poking Comm.
"I hope not." Joey worriedly said.
"L-Let's get out of here!" Set said, furtively looking around.
"Y-Yeah. I-I agree. I-I don't w-want to be b-blamed for m-murder." Dec said, who stutters when scared. All four of them ran.

When I woke up, the first thing I noticed was that I was naked. Now, I wasn't butt naked, I had underwear on. The next thing I noticed was that I was in a bed, a big bed. With silk sheets and a heavy comforter. All around me were beautifully made tapestries. One depicted a knight slaying a monster. Another one depicted the same knight being crowned. The one beside that one showed the knight getting married. The next one showed the knight and his new wife smiling down at a baby. The last one showed the baby, now older, riding a Varpl. (A Varpl is like a horse, but its tail has a spike on it. Very dangerous.)
I heard the door open. A young girl came in. She was carrying a tray of medicinal herbs and bandages. When she saw me looking at her, she gasped.
"I must tell young master that his charge is awake." she said and hurried away. When I looked out the open door, I realized where I was.
"The castle!"I murmured to myself. "How did I get here?" Then the girl came back. She walked straight toward me, picking up the tray as she came. She reached toward me, but I pulled away.
"Now, now. You don't have to be scared. I'm just changing your bandage." Then I felt foolish. I leaned back toward her and she started to change it. As she put the cloth with the medicine on it on the back of my head to clean out the wound, I hissed in pain.
"I'm being as careful as I can. Don't move." she said.
After she cleaned it, she put a fresh bandage on. "There. All better." she told me. As she walked out the door, I heard her talking to someone.
