Lost and Alone

Chapter 1

It was just an ordinary day for team scorpion. Sylvester sat at his black board writing out equations, happy tinkered with whatever parts were on her desk while Toby pretended to be doing something on his computer when in reality he was really watching Happy work and Walter worked on his rocket. This is the way Paige found them when she walked in three hours later after picking Ralph up from school. 

"Is it alright if I help Walter with the rocket Mum?" her genius son smiled at her. 

"of course baby" Paige replied kissing him on the forehead before he ran over to her boss filled with excitement. Walter looked up at the sound of their voices shooting them a quick smile as Ralph made his way to him. When she knew Ralph was safe with Walter she made her way over to the kitchen to start organizing a special family dinner for the team. However, before she could start anything the door to the garage opened.

"Case on deck!" came the voice of Agent Cabe Gallo, their government handler. 

"What is it?" Walter asked as he walked over to join the team who had already gathered around the table.

"A hacker calling himself the tornado, hacked CIA files. It is unclear what files were taken. Some files have been corrupted, CIA thinks this was a diversion from what was taken. The CIA conducted their own investigation but are at a loss and now suspect a mole. Now their asking for our help. They want you to find out what files were taken and recover them and find the bastard behind it."

Once the briefing was complete the geniuses got started. Toby profiled all the CIA agents looking for the mole with the help of happy, Sylvester  worked on recovering the corrupted files and find what files were taken and Paige, after making sure her son was safe with Cabe, followed Walter to interview the CIA agents involved.

by 8 o'clock the team wasn't any closer to figure it out. Toby and Happy decided to call it a night, concluding that they would be in early in the morning to continue the investigation, and Sylvester and Cabe were not far behind. Paige looked to her son who had fallen asleep on Walters couch debating if she should wake him to take him home. He was sleeping so soundly and she really hated to wake him. Walter must have noticed her looking over at Ralph and walked over to stand next to her.

"you don't have to wake him." Walter stated frightening Paige slightly as she didn't realize he was there. 

"Hmm.. What?" she asked

"you don't have to wake him. stay here tonight it will be more efficient. You and Ralph can just take my bed and I will just sleep on the couch." Walter stated.

".. you don't have to do that Walter, its OK I can take the..."

"Paige. Take my bed. I will carry Ralph up. don't argue."

Walter picked Ralph up off the couch and made his way to his bedroom With Paige in tow. He gently removed the young geniuses shoes and laid him on the bed before moving over to his draws. grabbing a pair of tracksuit pants and a small singlet he passed them to Paige.

"these will be more comfortable then those jeans" he stated.

"thanks" she all but whispered as she took the items and turned to the on-sweet. Just before she closed the door she turned back to Walter.

"Walter..?" she asked.

"yeah..."

"Thank you" she said voice fall of gratitude.

"goodnight Paige" he replied as turned and left the room grabbing a blanket off the draws on his way out. After quickly changing Walter set himself up on the couch and turned off the light. just as he was drifting off to sleep he swore he heard heard a whisper of her voice.

"Goodnight Walter..."
