Chapter 2: the carnival / Ji's new girlfriend?

I woke up to rays of the sun shining in my eyes and the mother of all hangovers. I immediately knew it wasn't my room and sat up quickly, but the sudden painful pounding in my head forced me to lay back down. "Aish..." I muttered. Seeming that all I could do was stay here, I looked around the room. It was defiantly a woman's room. I rolled over on my side to face away from the sun when my face was buried in a mess of pink hair. "What the-" Then I remembered. Last night, Mi-hyun, the girl with the pink hair, this was her house. I looked under the white sheets at my body. No clothes. Yep, and that too. I propped myself up on one elbow and gazed at her while she slept. She looked peaceful. I tucked a piece of her hair back and kissed her temple gently. She stirred a bit and her eyes fluttered open. "Oh i'm sorry, I didn't mean to wake you up" I apologized, glancing away. She rubbed the sleep out of her eyes and laughed softly, "Its okay" She stretched, "You hungry? I'll go make some breakfast" I nodded and laid back down. She got up to leave when I grabbed her by the wrist and playfully pulled her back on to the bed. She giggled and I pulled her closer to me for a kiss. "Jiyong-ah you must be hungry, let me go make some breakfast,ok?" "Are you going to make breakfast like this?...I wouldn't mind." I guestured at her fully exposed,naked body and smirked. She stopped laughing and gasped, embarrassed and throwing herself under the blankets. 'Come on, its not that bad." I got out of bed and grabbed my phone. I found the song I was looking for and blasted it full volume. I'm sexy and I know it played. "Wiggle,wiggle,wiggle,wiggle,wiggle, yeah!" I sang , swinging my hips back and forth to the beat. She burst out laughing and covered her face with her hands. "Ji! Put on some clothes! The neighbours will see you." I peered behind me. Shit, the window was open and there was an old lady looking at me in shock with her mouth wide open. I mouthed sorry to her, quickly closed the blinds and climbed into bed, red with embarassment. "Shit,shit,shit,shit,shit" I cursed to myself. "Its not that bad." mocked Mi-hyun with a smirk. She got up and threw on the nearest shirt which happened to be my t-shirt I wore the night before. The front dropped down in a v-neck, showing a bit of cleavage and the shirt covered just below her bottom. She exited the room, leaving me in bed. A few minutes after, I hopped out and put on my boxers and shorts I picked up off the floor. I ruffled my hair a bit and followed her to the kitchen. The smell of bacon,eggs and pancakes frying hit me instantly. My stomach growled. I stood at the door frame and studied the room. It was all very modern, pristine and stylish. I walked as quietly as I could on the hard wood floor to Mi-hyun,who's back was turned, and snaked my arms around her waist, resting my head on her shoulder as she cooked. When she was done, I helped her bring it to the table and we both ate. "So, Jiyong, what do you do?" She asked. "I'm in a band, BigBang. We're not that popular yet, we debuted under YG Ent. A few months ago. What about you?" She smiled, "That's so cool! I'll have to come to one of your shows someday." "Yeah,for sure, that's be great" I smiled back. "My job? ..I'm a model" She answered. We talked for a few hours even after we finished our food. I learned a lot about her during the time we talked. Like she's half Korean and half French, her mother being Korean and her dad being French. She has two older brothers who are married, and knows how to speak 5 different languages fluently. Our conversation was suddenly interrupted by my phone on the table infront of me that vibrated and lit up,telling me I had a call. "Ji Na" flashed on the screen. I declined the call. I got up and excused myself. "I have to go. Sorry. Lets have lunch together sometime soon,ok?" Grabbing the rest of my clothes and giving her a hug before I left, I opened the door and stepped out. "Bye! I'll call you" She said, waving goodbye as I closed the door behind me.  I got in my car and drove home to my inevitable death at the hands of Ji Na. I sighed to myself. She always worried a lot about me. Aish this girl needs a vacation..   ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~  I arrived at my house and parked the car on the driveway. I felt around for the key hidden under the door mat and opened the door with it. I stepped inside, throwing my keys onto the table beside the door. Ji Na was infront of me at the speed of light.  "Where have you been?" She asked, crossing her arms, trying to look intimidating. "Do you know how worried I was about you?!" She furrowed her eyebrows. "Don't ever make me worry like that again, arasso?" She threw her arms around me and hugged me.I stood there shocked. Wasn't expecting a hug. I was expecting her scary hulk side to be unleashed. I ruffled her hair and grinned at her. "Neh,mianhe, Jay." Even though I was older then her, she was always protected me like a little brother.  She grabbed me by the collar and pulled me closer. She leaned in closer and smelt my shirt. "Lady's perfume....And alcohol? I knew it. Who's the girl, what's her name?" She asked eagerly. I knew she wouldn't back down so I gave up. "Her names Mi-hyun". While walking up the stairs, I froze mid-step nearly at the top.  There was an absence in the house I couldn't quite put my finger on...  Kai. That was it. Kai wasn't here. He was always here. I turned to Ji Na who was on the couch scrolling through her phone, wrapped in a blanket. "Hey Jay, Kai isn't here today?"  She looked up, "No he left earlier for the airport with his family to go visit relatives in America. He'll be gone for a week"  I turned back and bounded up stairs, holding back a smile until I was out of her sight. Yes! It must be Christmas. 

~~~~the next morning~~~~

The loud sound of loud music woke me up from my sleep. "Becuase I naughty, naughty, Hey! I'm Mr.Simple!" I heard Ji Na sing.  "Ji Na! Turn it down,I'm trying to sleep! I yelled over the music. I threw a pillow over my head trying to block out the music. She turned it up louder "I will not be silenced!" Yelled back Ji Na from downstairs and laughter followed afterwards.  I was irritated but couldn't help but smile. I flung my legs over the side and sat for a few moments, trying to wake up. My eyes were still half closed and my hair going in every direction. I looked like a mess. I threw on some sweat pants and walked to the bathroom across the hall to brush my teeth. After I was finished, I stomped downstairs.  "Yah! Do you want to die? How dare you interrupt my beauty sleep!" I demanded. "Breakfast?" She asked,ignoring my question. I gave her a hard stare but accepted the food. She just laughed at me and handed me a plate full of food. "Thanks" I said.  She sat down across from me with her own plate. "Hey,you wanna go somewhere later? You've been spending a lot of time with Kai, just thought we could spend some time together" I asked after a few seconds of silence.  "Sure,sounds good, Ji. where are we going?" She said, looking up from her food.  "There's this carnival that's in town for a few days only, how about that?" She nodded and flashed a thumbs up as a substitute while her mouth was full of food. We both finished eating. She was washing the dishes so I handed her my dirty plate.  "I see you've been working out" She smirked, poking my abs with a wet hand. "You like?" I posed and wiggled an eyebrow at her. She flicked some water at my face and laughed, turning back to the dishes.

~~~~later that day~~~~

"Jay,hurry up!" I said, checking my watch. "It's been half an hour, are you ready yet? It's just the carnival." I stuffed my hands into the pockets of my black jeans and leaned against the wall. Did girls always have to take this long to get ready?  She finally stepped out of her room. "Lets go!" She said cheerfully.  By the time we arrive there it was already almost 8pm. It was almost dark and the park was filling up with families, children and teenagers. Ji Na hugged my arm and we walked through the bright display of lights hanging from booths and poles, illuminating the streets as the night got darker.   I walked up to the cotton candy booth and bought two for me and Ji Na. I handed it to her and we both ate, walking peacefully in silence. She suddenly squealed and dragged me to a booth. The sign read "Face Painting". I groaned, "Nuh-uh.Nope." "Come on!" She pulled me to a chair and described to the painter what she wanted on my face. "A giant pink unicorn across his face" I heard her say. When I was finished my entire face was basically pink. Real manly,right? Soon, Ji Na was up for hers.  She got a lion and her whole face was painted with orange and yellow. She looked ridiculous. I threw my head back and laughed. She stuffed a chunk of cotton candy in my mouth which made me stop laughing but almost choke. She just stood there and laughed at me. We wandered until we found all the rides. Ferris wheels, roller coasters, merry-go-rounds. It was an amazing night and we were both shaking with laughter at the end, hoping it didn't have to end so soon.  "Attention everyone we are closing in 10 minutes but will be open again tomorrow at 9am. Thank you for coming." We exited the amusement park and sat on a bench near the beach. It was nearly empty with only a few people taking a swim or a peaceful walk. The wind was blowing and the orange glow of the sunset made everything seem hazy and calm. The sounds of the waves crashing against eachother and the cry of the seagull made me so mesmerized I almost forgot about Ji Na until she leaned on my shoulder.  She closed her eyes. The lights shone on her pale delicate features and small pink lips. I leaned my forehead on hers. Her eyes opened and stared back up at me. I looked at her tempting lips. I couldn't take it anymore. I leaned in to kiss her. Her head turned to me and with her face inches away from mine. I felt her hot,anticipating breath on my face. She closed her eyes and leaned forward to close the gap.  But the contact never came. Her phone ringtone blared loudly, startling the both of us. I cursed to myself silently. "I..uh, better go." She said,getting up, "Kai just called, he just arrived at his relatives house and he wants to video chat."  "I'll take a taxi home later, you can take the car" I tossed her the keys and gave her a small smile. She nodded and said bye before she left. Night time was nearing but I sat on that bench, deep in thought. She almosted kissed me back.. did that mean she had some feelings for me too?  That's it. I need to tell her, I can't keep it a secret anymore.
