Raven peacefully levitated down the a abandoned hallway of the Teen Titans Tower. With sleepy eyes she peered at the glowing light shining from the end. "Someone must have forgotten to turn the lights off," she thought to herself. "Or maybe Robin is up doing late night work." She continued to glide down the passage and closer to the dim light to find its source. The sorceress eventually decided it took too much energy for her magic and would rather walk. She gently came down to the ground, the balls of her feet brushing the icy floor. A small part of her was on edge, considering the fact that it may as well not be one of her teammates. She cautiously turned the corner to discover a familiar green hero digging through the refrigerator. He chugged a bit of soy milk straight from the carton, wiped his mouth on his arm, then put it back. Raven didn't mind this as much considering no one else would touch the stuff besides himself.
"Hey Beast Boy," she greeted, startling him a bit.
"Oh, hey Raven, I didn't hear you come in here," he said with a sheepish grin.
"Maybe you would have if you weren't too busy chugging down a gallon of soy milk," she retorted, then took a seat on one of the stools positioned in front of the counter. He gave her a small shrug then continued his search for a snack. He flung open the cupboards and took out a box of Fruit Loops. He dumped them into a bowl then followed them with a bit of soy milk. Beast boy lazily dropped the spoon in the bowl then sat at the counter across from her, the only sound in the room being the sloshing of cereal and clinking of his spoon against the bowl.
"So why are you up so early?" He asked just after he had swallowed his first bite of cereal, as though he was greatly anticipating to ask that question. Raven let out a light, almost undetectable sigh. She turned a bit to stare at absolutely nothing. There was no focus on her eyes. His energetic emerald eyes searched a bit at her, but came up with nothing, no emotion. Perhaps if he could only look her in her own secretive eyes, then maybe he could decipher her code. She had a terrible problem. She could never look anyone straight in the eyes. The eyes her the windows to the soul after all, and she carried to firm but false belief that her soul was ugly. Little did the empath realize that her soul was perfectly in tact, though it is half demon. She thought that maybe she would do him some kind of damage by using her soul to look at his pure and bright one. That is why is was especially difficult for her eyes to look into his.
But Beast Boy did not know this. He merely beloved she wished to pay no attention to him and his more immature endeavors.
Raven finally provided the confused hero with an answer. "Bad dream," she said with a small shrug then focused her eyes now onto the counter and down to her delicate porcelain hands, though those hands had done so much.
"Do you want to talk about it?" He asked with slight hesitation, it being more of an open gesture.
"Not particularly," the girl answers plainly and monotonous. Why would she want to do a thing like that? Her soul after all is what formed those dreams; from her fears and desires. He simply nodded and continued to eat his midnight snack. She was shocked at his silence, considering that usually he would make several more attempts to get closer to her. Surprisingly to her, it made her a bit uncomfortable. She slightly frowned, then spoke up again.
"So how about you?" She asked, glancing up for a brief moment then looking back down at her fingers, which were lightly tapping on the counter in front of her. The boy looked up at her with confused eyes.
"I was bored," he responded, then followed his words with cereal down his throat. She raised an eyebrow at him.
"Bored of sleeping? How does that work?" She questioned.
