Love Is A Scary Thing! (AmericaXReader)

((SO THE FIRST FEW ONE SHOTS ARE KIND OF LONG BECAUSE I ALREADY WROTE THEM ALL ONTO A GOOGLE DOC A WHILE AGO SO SORRY THAT IT'S HELLA LONG!!!))

McDonalds. That's all you could smell when you walked into the Americans house. You took off your shoes and placed them next to the other ten pairs of shoes, all his, by the front door. You quietly walked through the house cautious of where you stepped, for you did not want to make a sound.
You are probably wondering why you were so quiet while entering his house. Well, let me back track for you. You were told that it was easy to scare the blonde so wanted to see how easy it really was. So you decided to sneak into his house and scare the living daylights out of him. Natural, right? Now back to the story.
You went throughout the house to find no American. Then you remembered how he always played his video games in his basement. You carefully opened the door and walked down the stairs, skipping the fourth, ninth, eighteenth, and twenty-second steps, as those were the ones that always creaked. You heard the loud television producing ear-splitting screams and weapons clashing. He must be playing his new zombie game that Kiku had lent him after he had forced him to watch scary movies with the poor Japanese boy. You tried your hardest you keep in your laughter as you saw him jump and occasionally yelp as he played the game. You honestly didn't know why he insisted on playing his horror games in a dark basement at midnight.
You went across the walls and you planted the bait. You took out your Swiss Army Knife that Vash had gotten you for your last birthday and dragged it along the concrete walls, making a long scrapping noise. You saw his body stiffen and ducked when he looked around the basement. "Wh-who's there," he called out, his voice quaking in fear. Then you make pitter-patter sounds by tapping your nails on the hard-wood. "Th-th-th-this isn't f-f-f-funny! Whoever or wh-whatever's there c-come out right n-now!" he yelled. You snuck over to the stairs and pressed on the twenty-second step, making an eerie creaking noise. "Go away!" he shouted. You ducked down low and crawled right behind him. You breathed on his neck and quietly leaped away as you saw him thrash around. "S-stop it!" he cried.
You then felt a little guilty so you decided to cut your performance a little short. You cautiously walked behind him, steps away from him. You leaned in close to his ear... "Boo," you barely whispered.
He shrieked, sounding like a school girl, and jumped high onto a shelf and clung to a ceiling pipe. However, he slipped off the shelf so he just hung there from the pipe screaming and kicking. You on the other hand, were on the floor in a ball laughing so hard your face was purple and you couldn't breathe. Once he noticed it was you, he jumped from the pipe and turned on the light. "[Y/N]!!! THAT WASN'T FUNNY!!! WHAT WAS THAT FOR?!" he screamed.
Once you caught your breath, you weakly stood up and said, "Because I felt like it~!" You burst into another laughing fit while he looked quite angry. You saw his angry face and immediately stopped laughing. "A-Alfred? Are you... mad at me?" you asked, scared to take a step forward. He crossed his arms and remained silent. "Alfred... I'm sorry... I didn't mean to upset you..." you trailed off, tears forming in your eyes. "You hate me now, don't you?' you asked, a few tears sliding down your face.
Alfred uncrossed his arms and his face softened. He went to your side and said, "Hey, hey, hey, hey, I don't hate you. I could never hate you. I was just a little pissed that you scared the crap out of me, dude. But now that I think about it... that was pretty funny if I replay it from your point of view." He started laughing and you soon joined in the laughter again.
After a while of laughing, he asked you, excitedly, "So do you want to play?"
"No!" you replied instantly.
"Wha?! Why not?!" he asked.
"Because. I have to go to work. I only had time to stop by and scare you and if I stay any longer I'm going to be late," you answered.
"BOOO!!!!!" he booed you.
You sweat dropped and turned to walk upstairs to leave. "Goodbye, Alfred~" you waved. He sighed, but bid you a farewell and you left.
You worked at a 24/hr supermarket and you just so happened to have been one of the lucky ones that took the midnight shift. You weren't complaining though. At midnight, the place isn't really busy except for the occasionally last minute school project shopping or drunk people coming in to mess around.
You arrived at work to your job as a cashier/bagger at the supermarket twenty minutes late. I guess you took longer than expected. You snuck inside, trying not to be noticed for you tardiness when you hear a thick accent bark your name.
"[Y/N]!!!" it yelled. You stayed frozen as a failed attempt to be "invisible". You heard footsteps walk towards you and an annoyed German accent spoke behind you, "You know I can still see you, right?" Your head hung low as you nodded. "And you do know that this is your third time in a row being late?" he said. You nodded again. The German sighed as he said one sentence that petrified you. "If you're late again, I'll be forced to fire you, Miss [l/n]."
"Y-y-yes sir!" you saluted. With a nod, he walked off and you exhaled a breath you hadn't known you'd been holding. You heard laughter next to you and you turned your head to see your boss's older brother, Gilbert, laughing so hard he to hang on the bagger wheel for support.
"Shut up! Or I'll tell my story of the time I caught you and Mattie doing... unmentionable things... over the intercom. Oh, and with explicit detail too," you threatened. Gilbert's face turned beet red and you looked to see Mattie's, a few aisles down, had done the same. You heard nearby cashiers and baggers "Ooooo!" and you knew you had won that battle.
You smirked and walked to baggage lane eight and you saw your co-worker, Kiku, standing at the cash-register reading manga. As excepted. "Hey, Kiku!" you chirped. "Goodmorning!"
"Ohayou, [y/n]-Chan," he greeted.
You stood at the baggage wheel, waiting for people to buy something, and you were bored out of your mind. You nearly fell asleep a couple times, once even leaning on the baggage wheel and almost falling, only to be stopped by Kiku grabbing onto your arm and pulling you back up. You could tell that he was uncomfortable with the physical contact because he was squirming and blushing. You giggled, satisfied with the entertainment, for the time being.
You were then grabbed by the arm and dragged away, no one paying attention to your protests. Once you were out of sight, you saw that your kidnapper was actually your friend, Feliks. Of course.
"So, [y/n] when are you, like, gonna ask that totally hot American guy out? You've been like, drooling over him since, like, forevs! You totally have to, like, ask him out!" he said, poking you.
Your cheeks flared red as you shook your head, "I-I-I don't know what you're talking about, Feliks." He scoffed.
"Oh, Puh-leez, [y/n]. Like, everybody knows about your crush on Alfred. It's so totally obvious. It seems like the only person who doesn't, like, know about it is, like, Alfred himself!" he said.
Your face was as red as a fire truck, now knowing that everybody knew. "Whatever! I'm not going to ask him out!" you said.
"Why not?" he questioned.
"Because if he said no, then that would be way too embarrassing!" you protested.
"But-"
"I said no." you cut him off sternly. He sighed.
"Fine. But, like, if you don't tell him soon enough he's going to, like, totally think that you see him as just a friend," he said.
"Then I'll just have to take that chance," you told him, nonchalantly.
He 'hmphed' and walked away. You sweat dropped and went back to your baggage aisle. Queue another half hour of death-by-boredom.
Kiku had just finished ringing up school supplies for an annoyed mother with her apologetic son and you were almost done bagging. Out of the corner of your eye, you saw the kid look at something behind you and give a small nod. You didn't think it was a big deal so you continued bagging.
Suddenly, you felt something pinch your sides as it screamed in your ear. You screamed and fell down on your butt with a thud. You could hear the BTT laugh as you blushed bright red. You looked up to see Alfred looking down at you with a wide smirk of his face. Oh, how you wanted to smack that smirk right off.
You stood up and without a word dragged away him by his ear, ignoring his repeated 'ows' and pleads to let him go, on how your nails were sharp, hearing laughter from almost all of your co-workers.
Once you were out of ear-shot, you yelled at him, "What was that for?!"
"Payback~" he smirked. You knew that was fair, but... No!
You smacked him on the back of the head saying, "Did you have to do it in front of the entire store?!"
"Ow!" he exclaimed, hold ing the back of his head. "It was only fair! Now the score is [y/n]-1, Alfred-1!"
"Score?" you questioned, confused.
"Yeah! The score of embarrassment!" he explains.
"Ohh... but... do remember, I had you screaming like a girl, flailing and kicking, hanging from a basement ceiling pipe. Doesn't that count for more than one point?"
His face flared red as he mumbled, "I guess..."
You chuckled and said, "Good."

His face lit up, as if he had an idea. "Idea! Whoever makes the other person more embarrassed wins!" he said.
You rolled your eyes and agreed, not taking the American seriously and walked back to your aisle as he roamed around the store to entertain himself. Feliks gave you looks and mocked romantic kissy faces as you mouthed for him to shut up. He rolled his eyes and went back to daydreaming about his co-worker, Toris. You have got to set them up one day.
After a while of bagging and such, you felt a tap on your shoulder. You rolled your eyes and said, "Alfred. You're not going to scare me by announcing your presence."
"Who said I had to scare you to embarrass you?" he asked, cockily.
You were about to question him on what he meant when he whipped you around by your waist and pulled you into a passionate kiss. You were so frozen in shock that you barely had time to kiss back. You heard hoots and cheers from your best friends, the loudest coming from Feliks-of course-, and you felt him smile into the kiss. Once he finally pulled away, you were blushing so hard you could feel immense heat all the way to your ears.
"I think I just killed two birds with one stone," he said, smirking. You cocked your eyebrow in confusion. "I won the game, and I got to kiss you! I've always wanted to do that!" he explained with his usual goofy grin. You blushed darker-if that was even possible- and pulled him in for another kiss. Love was a scary thing. But, hey, it's worth it. ~END~
