You never really stop loving someone,

You just learn to live without them.

"I dated her because I wanted something from her," my boyfriend, Mick says over the phone. We were in the conversation about his recent ex-girlfriend. It turns out my so-called boyfriend only dated her because his friends had obtained that 'something' from her sister already and Mick was trying his chances with her.

Okay, I don't like his ex but still, when it comes to things like this—girls stick together. No-one disrespects us.

No-one.

I count quietly to ten to calm myself down before replying.

"So," I clarify, silently fuming, "you basically dated her so that you can get between her legs?"

"It's not how you think—"

"Oh, I think I know what it's like, dick," I hiss, "You don't ever disrespect girls like that!"

"No—wait—Deja!" He protests.

But I was on fire.

"Don't Deja me, dickhead. If that's all what you think about then, what are you trying to say about this relationship?"

"I'm serious about us," He says desperately.

I shake my head even though he can't see me. "Uh-uh. It doesn't work like this. That is downright disgusting. I can't believe you're this kind of person!"

"Deja—let me explain!" Mick pleads.

I roll my eyes in annoyance.

"You don't need to explain anything at all," I say sweetly.

He pauses on the other end, and then slowly, "I don't?"

I nod ecstatically. "Uh-huh. You see, you don't need to explain anything at all because it's over between us! I don't want to hear from you ever again!"

"No—wait! You're just angry right now! Let me explain—!"

I hung up, shaking my head in disgust. God, I never knew he had such an ugly side to himself.

Lo walks in humming happily, a novel titled Bloodlines by Richelle Mead in her hand.

I glare at her. "How many times are you going to read over that series?"

Lo halts mid-step in the doorway and looks up. "Uh-oh. Who's pissed you off now? And I'm never going to get over this, I love Adrian Ivashkov!"

I sigh. "Whatever."

Lo sighs as she bookmarks her page. "I'm up to a really good part, though."

I scoff. "Aren't you always up to a good part?"

She grins. "Okay, that's true."

Lo places her novel on my desk as she walks in.

She sighs loudly as she sits next to me on my bed. "Okay, who pissed you off?"

"Mick the Dick."

Lo chokes out a laugh and her eyes widen in surprise at me. "What have I missed?!"

I relay our conversation and Lo's eyes narrow as her laughter slowly subsides.

Yup, and you think I was harsh. Lo is more passionate when it comes to these sort of things. After all, she's experienced it herself. Dickhead didn't know what hit him when she broke it off.
