Ty
At around nine o'clock that same day Mitch called us back to check in.
"Hey." He says as I answer the phone, sounding like he'd been crying. "Hey. Is everything ok?" I ask him, trying not to sound like a concerned mother, most likely failing horribly. "Well...No." He says, and as he says that I hear him sniff, and then my thoughts have been confirmed, Mitch had been crying. "What happened?" I ask him, forgetting about trying to not sound like a mother. "Well, Jerome said he was never dead." Another sniff. "And...I don't know...." He says, I can hear the confusion in the way he's talking, along with all of the sniffing. "Mitch, it'll be ok." I say to him comfortingly. "I know, I'll get back to you in the morning." He says with a final sniff. "Ok, love you Mitch." I say before he replies, and hangs up.
"So, what's up?" Jordan asks, looking up from the computer. "Jerome never died." I say bluntly. "Night." I say, walking over to one of the beds and immediately flopping face first onto the mattress. "Ok, night Ty." She says, laughing at my face-plant.
Mitch
I hang up my phone call with Ty, and wipe the tears from my eyes.
"Mitch?" Jerome says, opening the door, not bothering to knock. "Are you ok? I heard crying." He says, explaining his reason for coming in. "I don't know. I thought you were dead, I thought I'd never see you again. But, here you are, right in front of me. Perfectly alive, not a scratch." I say, more tears forming in my eyes. "That's exactly what I thought until Adam told me the truth. I thought you'd died." He says, holding back his own tears. "Jerome, never leave me again." I demand, looking up at him, forgetting everything in the world and focusing solely on Jerome. "I promise I'll never leave you Mitch." He says walking over to me. "Mitch." Jerome says, sitting next to me on the bed. I turn to look at him, our eyes are level. "I love you." He says, taking my face in his hands, and pressing his soft lips to mine. The kiss brings me back into reality. I push him away, quickly standing up.
"Jerome I..." I start, but get cut off by Jerome. "I'm so sorry Mitch, that was uncalled for. I shouldn't have done it." He says, apologetically. "Jerome, I'm dating Ty." I tell him, waiting for his look of shock, or hurt. When he finally speaks, I get a mixture of both. "Oh, I should've known." He says simply. "I'm sorry Jerome. Maybe, I should go." I say. I really hate hurting Jerome like this, but I was going to have to leave sooner or later. "Maybe." He replies. I can hear the hurt in his voice. "Then I'm gonna go." I say. I grab my bags, and walk with Jerome to the door.
"Well, I guess this really is good-bye Mitchell Donnell Ralph Hughes." Jerome says using my full name like he used to when I'd go back to Canada. "I love you too Jerome." I say walking away. As I walk away I realize I'm walking away from my first love, for the last time. I'd probably never see Jerome again, or his house. I feel new, hot tears fall from my tear ducts. cascading onto my face in salty waves. I walk past a few motels before I see Ty's Impala parked in one of them.
As I walk to his car I see the familiar face I have never wanted to see less. "Hey Mitch! It's been so long!" He says, running over to me. "Adam, leave me alone." I say turning away from him. "Ok, bye Mitch." He says, sounding slightly hurt. I really didn't care, he'd lied to me for so long, never contacted me. Nothing. I listen to his footsteps retreat, and then try opening Ty's door. Surprisingly it opened. I threw my stuff in and decided to just sleep on the seat and not bother checking every room for them.
Jordan
My eyes flutter open, but they quickly shut due to the sun's bright rays shining directly in my eyes.
"Morning sleepy head." Ty says jokingly. I grumble in response, grabbing ,y pillow and throwing it at him. "Not that happy this morning are we?" Ty says, easily dodging my pillow. I continue to grumble my response. "Yeah, you want breakfast?" He asks me. "Sure." I say, my voice sounding a bit more gravelly than normal. "Well get dressed then." He says ruffling my hair as I stand up. I slightly growl at his touch. "Ok, sorry." He says, holding his hands up in surrender. I smile and grab my bag walking into the bathroom.
When I walk out Ty's sitting patiently at his computer. "Hey, ready?" He asks me, standing up and grabbing his coat in preparation. "Yeah, let's go." I say, follo.wing Ty out to his Impala. We get to the car, and see a body passed out on his back seat. "Ty, is that..Mitch?" I ask, seeing the resemblance. "I think it is." He says, sounding as confused as I felt. He opens the door gingerly, poking the body, hearing the familiar grumble of Mitch. Ty smiles slightly, shaking him fully awake. Mitch groans, sitting up whilst rubbing his eyes.
"What do you want?" He grumbles with a groggy voice, a yawn at the end. " Mitch, why aren't you at Jerome's?" Ty asks, giggling at Mitch's current state. That seems to snap Mitch into the harsh reality we live in. A blush coats his face as he says,"Oh, uh...Well, he, uh...He tried to kiss me and I, uh, I left and I had no idea what room you guys were in so I got in your car last night and fell asleep."Mitch explains.
"Oh..." Ty answers, speechless. "Ok, so who's up for breakfast?" I say through the awkward silence that had settled over us. "Me." Mitch says quickly. Ty silently walks to the driver's side as I go the opposite way. Ty starts the car, taking us to a diner we saw on the way to the motel.
