The Girl In The Blue Bow
It was 4:45 pm, Saturday. The time of the week where I could get to see the mysterious girl in the blue bow. It has been 2 and a half months since I have started seeing her. Holding a book in her a hand, she went into the counter to order her usual Caramel Flan Latte and Bagel. I noticed that she brought a new book too. Love Letters to the Dead.
I may seem a little bit creepy but the real truth is, I may think I have a crush on this girl. With a prim and proper attitude and all who wouldn't?
But the real things is, I am just a dork to this girl. I have tried to approach her a couple of times but I ended up embarrassing myself like the last time.
{FLASHBACK}
I was about to approach her with a bagel in hand because I notice that her bagel is about to be finished. I was trembling due to nervousness and I accidentally slipped in the wet floor.
A lot of embarrassment you say. I also ended up leaving my new Algebra book and I had to buy a new one.
I am already used to her reading a new books every time she sits and escapes to her own world. But the case is, she's crying over a book for a first time. Not I mean first time, she cries every time but tears were just streaming on her face. This time, she was weeping and I could see tear stains on her dress. It was almost nighttime and the few people remaining in the shop were staring at her.
"I'm sorry, please continue your previous doings." She said to the people with a weak smile while failing to wipe her tears.
I walked to her and gave my handkerchief "You may need it" I said with a pitiful smile on my face.
It may seem to me that it's just a book, but to her I think it means a lot more.
"Oh. Thank You." she replied dryly while trying to sip her coffee.
"Mind if I sit down?" I asked her.
"I don't mind." She replied while trying to compose herself.
"This may seem personal but is there something about this book?"
"But you're a stranger" I could hear her murmuring. "But it's better to talk your problems to strangers right?" She's now battling herself whether to tell me or not.
"It's my bestfriend's, I mean my ex-boy-boyfriend's death anniversary today." She started while stuttering.
"I am in deeply.... Sorry" So that is what it is all about.
"This. This books just says everything I want to tell him. He died on a car crash after we broke up." She have failed to contain herself and went into tears once again. "I can't do this anymore.. I'm sorry" She said rushing at the door.
I was about to run after her and ask for her name but she's gone.
"Love was in front of you but did let it pass" The Waitress in the shop said to me while I entered the shop once again.
I was about to leave when I saw the waitress holding a bookmark with a quote saying : 'Sometimes, Words Aren't Enough' with a fancy lettering and at the back 'Athena L.'
Maybe that's her name. The girl in the blue bow had finally a name.
*****
It has been a month. A month of not seeing the girl in the blue bow. I mean. Athena. I am missing her. I was here in shop once again hoping to see her. It's already 8 pm. It's tome to head home.
As I step on the road. I heard a honk and everything went black.
