Tanuja was exhausted. She had spent the entire day searching entire malls for the perfect gift. She wasnt much of a shopper but this was one of the few ocassions that she didnt mind having to shop. She picked up her ringing phone as she got into her car to hear " Heyy Tanu!! I know we had a date today but practise is probably going to go on for another couple of hours or so... Raincheck?"
"Alright Lou.." she found herself saying.
Had Louis really forgotten it ws their aniversary today? That today exactly a year ago he hd taken her out to the amusement park and held her tight as they screamed on the roller coaster ride. Today exactly a year ago they sat in the giant wheel n kissed for the first time. That since exactly a year they spent every night on the phone with each other till they fell asleep. How could he have forgotten when she had spent all her time trying to find the perfect gift?
She figured it was no big deal. I mean it didn't feel like a year... They both loved each other very much but didn't plan on making an aniversary a big deal. But none of that stopped her from throwing her perfect gift to the back seat and the silent tears falling down. She stopped in front of her building wiped her face, carefully picked up the gift and walked up to her apartment. On the stairs she saw a single red rose and another a little further away.
There was an arrow on top of it pointing to the next rose which had an arrow on top of it too. Out of curiosity Tanuja followed them. There were 11 roses in total and lead to the roof of her building. She pushed open the door to see the entire place covered in candles and a table in the middle laid out for two. "Some lucky bastards are going to have the time of their life today" she muttered "While my boyfriend forgot that its our anniversary..."
"Did you really think I forgot?" A voice asked from behind.
Tanuja turned around to see Louis standing there with a rose in his hand. "Happy anniversary babe" he said as her face broke into a huge grin.
"God Louis! Why didnt you tell me!?"
"Whats the point of a surprise? Besides you should have seen the look on your face!" He walked up to her and handed her the last rose and said "Thank you for the best 12 months of my life" as he pulled her a chair...
