I spent the rest of the morning in my brother's arms; I was afraid that is he left my side even by just one second the wolf would appear at the same moment and attacked me.

"I still don't understand why a wolf would attack you dear; we have no enemies in other packs." My father said as he smoothed my hair.

"I don't know why they did that to you but I'm not going to let that happen again, ever." My brother promised me before he kissed the top if my head.

And it was in the safety of my brother's arms where I finally fell asleep between sob and fears.

In the morning when I woke up I had to place a baby blue sleeved blouse to hide all the claw marks that I had in my arms, I placed on a white knitted hat, my blue faded jeans and converse. When my brother drove me to school he had a really anxious and worried expression in his face the whole time.

"Liz, are you sure you want to come to school today? Mom can always call in sick for you; I really think it's the best." Taylor told me.

"I'm sure; you have nothing to worry about." I said as I nervously twisted my fingers between the sleeves of my blouse.

We got to school and I went immediately to my locker afraid of who I could meet in my way which was mainly Max, because I couldn't let him see the claw marks or that he could smell the scent of another wolf on me, I know for sure that it would upset him because it would upset any werewolf.

"Hey Liz, I thought you weren't going to make it on time today for class." Nick said as he rushed to my side.

"Hey." I simply said in a soft voice.

"Okay, so I signed up for the dance committee and you're going to help me out, right? Of course I knew I could count on you, now the theme is the 90's which means that maybe we get a singer or something like that. Since you are now with Max I guess you are going with him, which leaves me completely dateless so you also need to help me with that. We also have to think about your dress and what I will wear, do you think it's proper to use a white tusk or a baby blue one? That doesn't matter, what is I just go with the traditional black one, I could get one from Oscar de la Renta and you could get a nice pink or blue dress, right?" Nick said as he spoke very quickly without making a pause.

"Sure." I said.

And then Nick noticed my face.

"Honey, what happened?" Nick said as he cupped my face.

"Nothing happened." I lied.

"Really, then explain how you smell like another wolf and it's not Max for sure, or am I wrong?" Nick said as he looked at me.

"I just-." I said as I struggled to get the words out.

"What happened?" Nick asked me, now he was concerned.

"It's better if I simply just show you." I said.

"Show me what? Come on Liz, you know I can't handle the suspension as you do because I'm not patient at all." Nick said.

I pulled my sleeves up until the scratches were on full display for him.

"Who did this to you, was it Max?" Nick asked me shocked.

I was about to answer him when Zac passed by, I quickly pulled the sleeves down so he couldn't see the marks.

"Do you think he saw them?" I asked Nick.

"Why does it matter?" Nick asked me.

"He could tell Max about them, and the thing is that Max didn't do this to me. It was a wolf that entered my room and attacked me. My parents and Taylor are trying to figure out who it was since we don't have any enemies so that's a very odd thing." I told him.
