The rain was hitting softly against my window as I sat down in the corner, my arms hugging my knees, my face buried. I finally let out a few tears reaching my break point. Oh how I missed you so, your kisses, your hugs, your smile, everything, I miss it all. If only I could go back in time to start it all over.

After a few quiet moment to myself, I looked up at my dark room. With a small sniffle, I turned my head down seeing a journal next to me. The journal you gave to me. I slowly picked it up, then opened it, and thats when a small card fell out. I picked it up and read it.

Happy birthday my love,
This journal is for you to keep track on whats happening in your life. Write in it everyday, how you feel, what you're doing, anything. It's for your private thoughts only. Keep it safe, I love you.
- your one and only

I tucked the note into the small pocket inside the brown leather book. I stood up holding it on my side, before setting it down gently on my desk. I picked up the silver metallic ballpoint pen that was laying on the corner of the table collecting dust, cleaned it up with my black shirt, then opened the book once more.

The first page.

I ran my fingers lightly on the soft paper with my left hand as my right clicked the pen. I closed my eyes, took a few breaths before the writing tool came in contact with the grey empty lines. Then I wrote. What was I going to write in my journal? Thats simple, a story.

On the day I lost you.
