A/N: I'm laaate... >:3
That was a horrifying pun that I am now actually kind of proud of...
But seriously. I apologize for taking this long to update. Really. I am SO sorry. But I've been working on a bunch of other stories I'm writing (that aren't all necessarily on wattpad) and also reading a lot...
Well, thanks for reading this! Oh, and COMMENT, you lazy pieces of bacon!!!
The young girl inhaled deeply and found her determination. Cut the nonsense, Alice. You're a clever girl. You've got to pull yourself together and find your way home. I know it hurts, but if you sit down, you may never stand back up again. Come now, at the very least you can find someone decent to ask directions from.
How wrong can one be?
Glancing nervously at the ominous thicket that lay before her, Alice put on her bravery socks and plunged into the mass of twisted trees that loomed before her. Poor, clever little Alice. Fate really never seemed to like her.
The girl shivered, her icy blue eyes flickering around the sickly shrubbery. One would think that a forest with so little canopy would not have been so dreadfully dark...
Eventually, Alice strayed onto what could have plausibly been a path, perhaps worn by the nimble feet of the native creatures. Hmm... peculiar. Speaking of creatures, none seemed to be about. Strange, for such a sunny day.
Good Gracious! What was the matter with her? She must have lost a good amount of blood, indeed, if her thoughts were straying to the weather at a time like this!
After thoroughly scolding herself, Alice somberly continued on the path, passing by a notably sorrowful willow.
It did not take our heroine long to notice that the wood was deceiving her. The treacherous path began to wind and curve, the terrain causing her to stumble more than a few times. With increasing franticness, she walked over trails of blood that she had already left, passing the same willow again and again.
The sickly trees themselves seemed to impose upon her, curling roots to make her falter and thrusting out sticks that scratched her skin. Every time she would clumsily tumble to a halt and try to rest for a moment, a tree would hungrily ensnare her. She would scream and thrash until she managed to free herself, and then she would choke on sobs as she began to trip her way along the forsaken path once more.
This process repeated until fate took pity on the blood-stained, blubbering girl, and led her out of the evil wood.
Right into something worse, of course.
Sadly, Alice was prepared, and actually a bit relieved, to confront the new horrors awaiting her; at any rate, the old one had gotten a bit stale. At least now she wouldn't be aimlessly wandering around in those absolutely terrible woods anymore...
