After a minute of running in the same direction as the man we finally saw him walk into an old house. The house was a dark brown house with foggy windows and the front porch was layered with dust. The paint looked like it was chipping off and the car parked in front was beaten down with no doors with rust. "This is disgusting! Why are we ever here!?" Stacey replied to the disgust she saw around her. "Shhh! He'll hear us and make us pay for even following him!" I said giving her arm a pushing for her to leave no more comments and she gave me a dirty look in return. We ran to the side of the house and rubbed the foggy window to see the man standing in front of the frozen T.v. He had set what we thought was the necklace down in a small box on top of the T.v. My eyes widen and I couldn't take my eyes off of the little box containing the necklace. "Were going to get ourselves killed! Lets just go home. If we go in there that's breaking and entering and I don't want to go to jail. Plus what would Logan think if he saw you like this?" Stacey had said in her pleading voice. I had no thought on anything but getting that necklace back from that man and nothing was going to stop me. The reason why I wanted that necklace so badly was because it reminded me of my mother. It had the same color that my mothers necklace had and when she wore that color she'd wear her wedding ring with the purple gems around the ring. It showed her love for her husband, my father, and me their young daughter. It was a family piece that made us a matching set. I was awake my Stacey when she was calling for us to leave. "We came this far so we cant go back yet! Lets get it done and over with." I could hear her give a loud sigh and looked at her with my eyes wide open telling her to keep quiet. We saw the man turn off all the lights and walk upstairs so I motioned for us to enter. The door opened smoothly and we tip-toed into the house and I went to the T.v. and saw the little box was gone. I looked around and searched the room with my eyes and saw it on top of the fridge in the kitchen. I motioned to Stacey to grab a chair and keep a look out while I grabbed the necklace. I placed the chair up against the fridge and softly put both feet on the hair. I had moved my hand around to feel for the box but from a sharp pain pulled my hand back so my eyes could examine the pain. It was bleeding and I looked on the top to see barbed wire around the box. My eyes widen and once again tried for the box. We heard a squeak and stopped frozen in place and after a minute unfroze to what we were doing. In a rush and pain from my heart beating I grabbed the box and pulled it out leaving the room silent.... Until a glass jar had fallen to the ground and Stacey and I looked at each other and decided to run for it. We heard a gun shot behind us and hid behind the old car trying to see if we could see the man. We jumped at a scream and went low to the ground. "Ill get you! You damn fucking kids! ITS MINE! ILL FIND YOU I PROMISE YOU THAT!" the man said screaming knowing are where abouts were known. We looked up from the car to see it was clear and ran all the way to my house. "That was close. But we did it!" I said smiling. "I hope you're happy. We have a MAD man who wants to kill us! Over a stupid necklace!" Stacey said pacing around my room. "How can you still there and smile?" "First off. He didn't say he'd kill us and second its a memory." I said opening the box to see the silver shine. "Well. Aren't you going to tell me the meaning of all this? I know no one, not even you, would risk your life for something so stupid as this. So tell me." she said looking at me with her straight and serious face. "Its the key." I said showing her the necklace once again. The key I need to a happy life.... So I hope.
