Swinging the door open I was met with a pair of curious brown eyes. “Hey pretty boy, you rang?”
“Yeah I need your help Allie. Come in?”
She walked past and made herself at home on my sofa. “Care to elaborate as to why you need my help?”
“It’s about Gabriella.” I went on to explain what happened between us earlier. After I finished she sat in silence and after a few awkward minutes she sighed.
“Pretty boy you two clearly have some issues you need to work out.”
“There aren’t any issues to work out Allie; she needs to be with him. He’s better for her and he was there for her when I wasn’t. As much as it pains me to say it…he deserves her.” Although I wish things were different and it was me she deserved…
“Ok so where does my helping you come in? I’m not understanding.”
Turning to face her I tried to hide the emotions that I knew were running across my face, sadness, anger, pain, heartache. “I want you to help me find a way to forget her. To bury the memories of her and move on, it’s the only way she can ever be happy and-“
“No Cayden! I won’t help you with that. I don’t think that is what’s best for you two. You guys can’t just act like neither exists and give up on love. Love doesn’t work like that! You’re supposed too fight for what you love and giving up definitely isn’t the way to go.” She yelled.
“But…but she doesn’t love me.” I whispered. God I sound like a love sick girl.
“Heck yea she does. You just can’t see it.”
“Then why is she with him?”
“Ok look at it this way pretty boy, she began to fall in love with you the minute you saved her from that bully stealing her ice cream eight years ago-“
“How did you know about that?” I asked cutting her off.
She turned to me with a scowl. “Just shut up and let me continue please?”
After seeing me nod and mock zipping my lips closed she let out a giggle before continuing. “Right, so like I was saying she began falling for you. To answer your question, she told me one night when we had girl time. You didn’t see the way her eyes lit up whenever she was talking about you and the dreamy smile that appeared unconsciously. She was hurt that you left her pretty boy. She didn’t even move on until just last year and right as she began to move on you waltz right back into her life acting like a stuck up, arrogant ass who could have whatever he wanted.”
“Yeah I know. I was a tool.”
“You sure were boy. She met Bradin and they became close. I know she loves him because he was there and he loved her for who she was and he treated her right. But she doesn’t have the same love for him as she does you, she was just scared to give into you because you weren’t the Cayden she knew and loved. You two have a bond so special that nothing could ever compare. It’s the fairy tale romance; just a more complicated and twisted romance if you ask me.” She giggled.
“It’s like a bad romance.” I chuckled thinking of Lady Gaga’s song.
Allie cocked one eye brow and just stared. “Have I ever told you, you are weird?”
“Uh no?”
‘Well you are. Anyways you just need to be there for her and show her that you do love her and just give her time. That’s all she needs. Time to find out what it is she really wants. And you need to focus on straightening yourself out in the meantime.” She smirked.
