(Leah's POV)
I just wanted to escape...
Escape from the guilt that seemed to keep on reminding me about what I did.
The pack I was now just running from, my Alpha, Keith, was stubborn and frankly, a dumbass. One drunken night, he gambled all of our land if the other pack Alpha won. And surely, the enemy did win. Although Keith probably didn't know the pack Alpha that he gambled with, was the evilest, meanest Alpha ever, it was still very stupid to do that.
Once Keith got sober, he realized the mistake he made and refused to give the other Alpha our land...Which broke out into a war.
During the war, I had to turn on my own pack in order to help me and my family survive. But my family died on the way... Now it's just me. Me; Leah Imogen Mayfields. The girl who killed about 20 of her pack members.
I cannot deal with the grief, I can't even think or talk about what I did without being upset. I have to escape.
And escaping is exactly what I was going to do.
I shifted into my grey wolf in a matter of seconds, ignoring the sounds of war in my pack's territory. As soon as my dirty paws hit the forest floor, I began switching feet as often as possible, carrying me as far away from that territory.
I couldn't help but release a hot tear from my wolf's eye-- if it was even possible for a wolf to cry-- as I continued running in the woods.
And hopefully, out of my territory.

I let out a small huff as I slowed my pace down to a slow walk. I'm pretty sure I had just run over 100km in less than 50 minutes, and boy was I tired...
I hadn't really recognized this forest, which was good.
The trees had a reddish/yellow color that seemed to tint the bark-- probably due to the sunset. The green leaves were an olive color, and the trees stood maybe about... 30 feet high up? The grass was musty and there were different kinds of flowers sprouting up from every inch.
Wow this was a way more beautiful forest rather than ours...
I didn't even take one full step before being taken down roughly onto the ground.
I howled out in surprise before I realized that the wolf had blonde fur, was the size of a lion, had yellow eyes like me-- and was attacking me?!
I kicked him off with all my strength, making him stumble back as I got to my feet and jetted to the other direction.
Once again, I didn't make it far when he tackled me again, pinning me down with my back pressed to the floor. I started snapping at his face; hoping that atleast one bite would hit his face, but it never did.
'Shut up!' he yelled loudly through a mind link. He wasn't an Alpha, although he was something that took a high position. Probably a Beta. 'Stop trying to hit me, you fucking rogue, and I won't kill you! But I can't guarantee that our Alpha won't...'
At the last part, a sickening smirk crawled onto the corners of his lips, revealing his pearly canines.
I sighed and eventually, stopped trying to kill him.
He slowly got off me and made a nauseating comment while I was getting up; 'You have gorgeous fur. Maybe when our Alpha kills you, he'll make a gloves and a hat out of you.'
I froze in my spot then swallowed the rest of my dignity.
So much for being the 'female lead'...
