Chapter 2

(Leah's POV)

I didn't get the privilege of even getting ONE second of sleep.

It was like the spirits of all the wolves I killed decided to haunt me in the night, calling me "bitch!" "you're the reason we're dead!" "If It wasn't for YOU, I would have taken care of my son!"

I blinked, catching myself from taking another hour of staring at the ceiling, and rubbed my face with my cold, bitter hands.

I flung my hand back and brought it to my face, making a smacking sound and giving me a stinging sensation as a prize.

I deserved that.

I really did deserve that.

(FLASHBACK)

I rubbed my shoulder, where some wolf had just tried to take my shoulder blade off, but luckily missed.

What the fuck is happening!?

I ran towards the exit. Right as I grabbed the handle, a dead body rolled over to my feet. I shrieked in fright and shock, backing up as blood streamed out of the body.

I recognized the woman as Chloe, a maid here at the castle. Her eyes were glazed and it seemed every second that passed, her red hair faded to a reddish shade of grey. "Fuck.." I whispered, crouching down and turning her body over.

There were 3 red lines, blood gashing out of each. They were each about 2 or 3 feet long, and were thin and menacing.

A rogue must've done this..

A hand touched my face, making me gasp. "L-Leah..." Chloe lifelessly whispered. "Help.." she gasped.

I bit my lip and cringed. In the distance, I saw two wolves sprinting towards me. "Oh my god, Chloe I'm so sorry!" I cried out, bending down and snapping her neck.

I whimpered as I heard that sickening crack then I shifted into my wolf and ran away.

I guess I did the right thing.. Those rogues would've killed her more gruesomely when they realized she was still alive. I saved her from experiencing even more pain than she already has.

I ran through the corridors, realizing there were piercing screams and yells for help. Not to mention the lakes of blood on the ground.

Something was happening...

 Something was definitely happening...

(END OF FLASHBACK)

I faded out of my flashback with a hand ruggedly shaking me until I responded. "C-Connor.." I whispered, brushing the tears out of my eyes. "What's u-up?"

"What were you thinking about?" he asked curiously, furrowing his eyebrows at me. He propped himself on his elbows, staring at me, waiting for a response.

My eyes morphed Connor's face into Paul's-- another wolf I was forced to kill. "What's wrong?" Connor asked, although Paul seemed to be calling me rude names.

"I'm sorry Paul!" I sobbed, bringing him into a soft hug. Tears dripped onto Connor's shoulder. I ran my hands through his brown hair, assuring me that I was just hallucinating.

"What?! Who's Paul? What did you do?"

Connor pulled away and looked seriously into my eyes.

I don't know why, or what, but something forced me into feel like I didn't deserve heading a pack and being happy with my mate.

"Leah, I have to do some pack work..." Connor sighed, glancing up at me almost to see if I approved of it. I slightly shook my head in a dismissal.

He got to his feet and dressed in grey jeans and a jean shirt. He looked really hot. The blue in the shirt brought out his aqua eyes, making me smile.

Although I had to focus on my mistake, and see how I could repay it.

* * * * *

I brought my knees up to my chest as I let tears cloud my vision. Staring at one spot in the room for continuous hours, I played flashbacks in my mind until it was too much.

(FLASHBACK)

I shifted into my grey wolf; the stubborn grey fur sticking out in every direction as I turned my head to the killers who got rid of about 70% of my pack so far.

One leaped at me, jolting me onto my back. I barked and snarled at it's face. It was a large black wolf with gorgeous blue sea colored eyes. I could easily tell it was an Alpha.

I snapped at him, trying to warn him to back off, but it caused him to stay unfazed at my actions. He pinned my wrists down with his paw as he drew his head back. Before he could attack my neck and my end would arrive, a wave of yellow ombred his eyes and he backed off of me.

I barked at him. 'Kill me!' I screamed through our mind link. 'Kill me now!'

He shook his head, in the motion as rugged movements. He turned around and scampered off, telling his pack to light our Pack Castle up in flames.

He looked back to me. 'Run.' he told me. 'Run as far as you can.'

I did what he told me; running to the nearest exit as the castle went up in flames. I watched his pack fled away as I collapsed onto my stomach.

I lazily rolled onto my back as my eyes dimmed to a black and I fell asleep.

(FLASHBACK ENDED)

I found myself in the kitchen, slumped over the sink as I just let my tears fall into the steel drain. I grabbed the corners of the counter and squeezed it as I sobbed, breaking the marble in half and allowing it to crumble in my hands.

I dropped the crumble to the floor as I pressed my hands to my eyes.

I felt two arms link around my waist as they turned me around. I wiped my tears and saw a concerned-- and naked-- Connor. "Babe.." he whimpered, taking my hands and bringing them down at my side. "What happened?"

"The-There was a R-Rogue in the backyard..." I lied in a teary tone. He protectively moved me out of the way and scanned the outside.

"I don't see anything..." he murmured, turning back to me. "Are you sure?"

I nodded.

Nothing was gonna let Connor know that I killed over 20 people in my pack...
