"What the bloody hell is wrong with you!" cried Lily, earning a stern look from McGonagall.
"Nothing. What about you?" smirked James, Lily groaned and looked back down to face her work.
She picked up he quill, just as she was beginning to dip it in the ink, she received yet another piece
of paper to the head. She dropped her quill and slammed her hand down on the old rickety table.
"Miss Evans." said the Professor, who was clearly not in the mood for any disturbances. Lily didn't
blame her. She would be feeling the same way if she had just come out of a transfiguration class
with James Potter. "Sorry Professor." McGonagall raised her eyebrows and looked back down at
her work. Lily noticed that the top of her hair was slightly singed. Probably a result of James'
famous fireball prank.
Lily's head snapped around and she glared at James. "Merlin James! Can you be more annoying?"
she asked spat, her voice no louder than a whisper. He placed a hand to his chin, pretending to be
in deep thought for a moment. "Probably, why? Do you want to find out?" Snickers from the
Marauders broke out from beside him, Lily rolled her eyes. Her hand gripped her wand, "Accio
glasses." she stated simply, with that James' glasses flew off his face and into her waiting hand.
"Oi! Give those back!" he whispher-yelled at her. "Not a chance Potter." she smiled and stood up.
Folding the glasses, she slipped them inside her robe and walked up to the front of the hall.
"Professor." she stated handing McGonagall her books.
"Thankyou Miss Evans." Lily nodded her head and turned back around and marched down the
aisle. She stopped when she reached where James was sitting. She reached over and placed a
small piece of paper carfully on his messy hair. She then lent carefully over the top of him so that
she could see what he was writing. It read her name but Evans had been scribbled out and re-
written over the top with Potter. She scowled. James head shot up, slamming into her stomach.
Lily took a few steps back, clutching her stomach. She turned on her heel and strode down aisle
and out of the study hall, leaving a group of boys behind her. Three of them in hysterics and the
other utterly embarrassed.
"Evans!" yelled an all to familiar voice. She spun around, her fiery red hair following her
movement. "Yes?" she replied, her voice dangerously sweet. "You still got my glasses." answered a
squinting James. She shoved her hand her pocket. "Have you got your stuff?" she asked, "Yes,
why?'' he asked gesturing to his bag. "Perfect." she replied, with that, she spun on her heal and
took off down the hall. "I swear Evans!" yelled James as he took off after her.
Lily laughed as she threw herself round the corner of the hall and sprinted up the stairs toward
the Griffindor Tower. "Barrackio Patronum!" yelled Lily as she ran up the stairs toward the fat
lady. The portrait swung open and Lily scrambled inside. She sprinted up to her dorm, taking the
stairs two at a time. She threw open her trunk and grabbed her scarf. She ran back down the stairs
quickly coming into the common room.
She arrived at the entrance just I time to snag James around the neck with her scarf. She pulled
him using her scarf to a wall. She spun him around and shoved his face against the wall.
Unhooking her scarf from around his neck, she re-tied it around his hands like cuffs.
Spinning him around again to face her, she shoved him to the ground so he was sitting and held
him there with her foot.
"What do you have against me?" she asked him, he hesitated, "Nothing?"
he answered, but it came out more of question rather than an actual answer. "Really? Then why
do you always tried so hard to annoy me?"
"You have the best reaction." smirked James.
"You are horrible." said Lily rolling her eyes.
"Why, might I ask, that you have to interegate me over Padfoot, Wormtail and Moony?"
Lily shrugged. "What are you such a pain?" James shrugged.
"Then, can we at least try to be friendly, to some degree?"
"Ummm, sure I guess."
"Great! Now, I'll just take my scarf back and here's your glasses." she said untying his hands and
placing the glasses on his shoulder. She flung the scarf around her neck and walk to the portrait
hole. "Oh and James. Just so you know my last name is Evans, not Potter, you had it right the
first time." called lily as she ducked out of the portrait hole. "Sounds better my way." muttered
James as his face turned red.
