I stepped out onto the curb seeing the town car waiting with the engine running. Nolan's driver stepped out coming around the car to open the door for me, not that I couldn't do it myself if Nolan would give me the chance. I smiled at the driver mumbling my thanks as I got into the back seat and he closed the door behind me.

"There's my girl?" Nolan joked his voice rumbling with allure. If his voice on the phone was like chocolate than his voice in person was like sex. I nodded sheepishly and gazed over at him. His blonde hair framed his face, and his eyes gleamed under the lights in the back seat. Nolan's features are distinctive, his jaw line is strong and his eyes are beautiful, a dark brown that shimmers under incandescent lights like a crystal catches sun. He decided on a black fitted suite and white collared dress shirt for the evening.

"Your girl eh?" I smirked back readjusting in the seat so that my pencil skirt would stop riding up. The thing had been a nuisance all day, not that I ever wear it long enough for it to be unprofessional.

"You know it baby girl" he said placing his hands on my face. "I stopped by your apartment and picked you out a dress for tonight just like you asked" he smiled letting my face go and pointed to a hanger with a dress on it, covered neatly by a dry cleaning bag.

"See just like the slave you are" Nolan smiled at me; "I snap my fingers and you jump" I joked as he lowered his hands.

"You like it"

"Thanks" the blush lit up my cheeks as I took the dress bag with a small smile, he has always known me better than I've known myself. Nolan could probably tell you anything you wanted to know. My favourite colour, food, animal and place, he could tell you what type of people I liked to spend time with, the places I liked to go to relax. Hell he could probably tell you the route I take during my morning run before work if you really wanted to know.

"You're going to have to do your make-up in the car on the way and then you can change in my office for the Gala"

"I think we spend too much time together Nolan" I joked pulling my make-up bag out. "We should probably get married"

"Yes dear Annabelle that has always been my goal in life" he smiled motioning for me to turn my back towards him so that he could help me with my hair. I'll tell you sometimes having long hair can be a hassle.

"What's that?" I inquired applying mascara to my eyes and lining them with dark eye-liner.

"My Goal in life?" I nodded as he began to pull my hair into a neat French braid. "To take you to bed of course"

"Isn't your bed already full up with women" I could feel his chest rumble as he laughed his hands moving intricacy down my back creating a tight braid. I smiled peeking into the bag to see what dress he had decided on. He chosen the sea green dress with a fitted, sweetheart bust decorated with rhinestones that falls out in a swirl ending just above my knees.

"Good choice?" He asked finishing my hair and slipping a flower into from his bouquet sitting off to the side.

"Good choice" I confirmed with a smirk. I applied a light amount of blue eye shadow and a simple pink lip gloss to finish the look. "There" I turned to look at Nolan and blushed as his face dropped slightly.

"Annie you look gorgeous"

"I'm not even dressed yet" I joked, playfully hitting his shoulder to lighten the mood. Nolan obviously had feelings for me, everyone knew it but I wasn't about to risk a lifelong friendship for a one night stand. I tended to joke around with him a lot, pretend to be his girlfriend and flirted back but I'd never take it any farther than that.

"Annabelle seriously" I groaned, he only ever calls me by my full name if he is serious about something.

"Oh look we're here" I interrupted cutting him off as we pulled into his winery. The building is old and made of bricks that have faded over the years. Vines have grown up the sides of the building giving it a rustic look. The parking lot was full with cars and a few late stragglers finding their way into the event which was in full swing as we approached. "What time did it start" I asked looking down at my watch as the driver opened the door for me, it read 730.
