Harry's PoV
Harry hasn't seen Nico come to the Great Hall to get breakfast or his schedule. He thinks it's a little strange, but dismisses as sleeping in. The boy starts walking to class to get away from Ron and Hermione's bickering in the Great Hall and think about what was so different about that Nico kid. And something was suspicious about how he got to Sirius's house. He felt like there was a block or something before Nico was introduced. Not only that but the Sorting Hat burst into flames when placed on his head. Now I don't know about you, but Harry thought that was a little suspicious.
But his thoughts are interrupted when he runs into something.
"Ow!" he mumbles rubbing his forehead. Then he glares at the door frame in front of him. "Stupid door..."
"Harry?" Harry hears someone behind him chuckle. "Are you trying to make out with the door or something?"
He turns around to see Nico trying to stifle his laughter.
"What? No! Of course not," Harry sputters. Nico's grin grew a little wider.
"Really?" Nico questions, his eyebrow raising. Harry sighed. "I just...erm... got distracted and uh...ran into the door."
"Whatever you say, Potter," Nico replies rolling his eyes. "Anyways, I need to ask you something."
"Oh. Uh, what do you need?"
"Do you know where all these classes are? I haven't got a clue and I wanna be early."
"Why would you want be early?" Harry scoffs. Nico simply shrugs his shoulders.
"I need to talk to the teachers about something."
"Well... what classes do you have?"
"Oh, uh... today I have..." He pulls out a piece of paper. "History of Magic, Transfiguration, Divination, and double Defense Against the Dark Arts."
"Hey. I have three classes with you today. You can come with me to History of Magic. After class I can show you where Transfiguration is." Nico thanks Harry and they walk a few classes down to where History of Magic is.
When they walk into class, there is no teacher in sight.
"Guess you're gonna have to wait to talk to Professor Binns." Harry told Nico.
"I'll talk to 'em later. What's the Professor like?"
"He loves to lecture and just talk and talk and talk. Hermione's fine with it, but everyone else falls asleep while he's talking. It's kinda hard not to.
"Oh great. This class is gonna be horrible with my ADHD."
"You have ADHD?" Harry looks at Nico with a surprised expression.
"Yeah. Dyslexia, too."
"I didn't know that. But why did you look at that paper to tell me your schedule? If you're dyslexic, wouldn't you read it slower?"
"I didn't memorize my schedule, if that's what you're implying. It's in Greek. I can read Greek. It's English that I don't do well with."
"You can read Greek? Geez mate, you're full of surprises." Nico gives Harry a weak smile.
"You don't know the half of it."
"There you are Harry! We've been looking for you," Hermione states appearing from behind the doorway. "What are doing here? We were talking to you when you just got up and left."
"Hermione, you and Ron were yelling at each other when I left. Besides, Nico needed my help to find his classes." Hermione rolls her eyes.
"Nico wasn't there when you left."
"Yes I was. You two were just too busy arguing to notice." Hermione jumps, then glares at Nico.
"No you weren't. I would have noticed if you were."
"You didn't notice I was here until a few seconds ago." She huffs and turns around to face Ron.
"And you're not going to say anything to defend me, I presume," says Hermione accusingly.
"Don't pull me into this!" Ron yelps.
"Of course," Hermione mutters. She turns back around and glares at Nico a second time. "What are your classes Nico?"
"Same as ours," Harry answers. "'Cept instead of double Potions, he has Transfiguration. Isn't that crazy Hermione?" Hermione gives Nico a strange look.
"Yeah. Crazy..."
They took seats toward the back of the class as students started trickling into the classroom.
"So, Nico..." Harry starts.
"Yeah?"
"Why are you here this year, instead of coming here your first year?"
"Honestly, I have no idea. My da- teacher, just told me I was transferring to a different magic school." He shrugs.
"When did he tell you?"
"The day I came here."
"What?!"
"I said, the day I came here. Sheesh, Harry. Get your ears checked." Harry rolls his eyes.
"I'm gonna start calling you Sassico," Harry decides. NIco groans in response.
"Not you, too! Almost everyone at Camp calls me that already..." Harry chuckles.
"It suits you."
"I still prefer Ghost King..." mutters Sassico.
The bell rang throughout the school and Nico jumped in response, his hand moving to his waist. Harry looks around. How long had we been talking? Everyone was already in their seats.
"What was that?" Nico whispers.
"You mean the bell?" Harry questions, raising an eyebrow.
"Oh. Yes. That." Then Nico spins his head around toward the front of the class.
"Good morning, class."
"Good morning, Professor Binns," the class drones.
"Today..." he trailed off and began to stare at Nico.
"Are you kidding me?!" Nico shouted. "Another one?! And he's teaching a class?!" Then Nico stood up, pushing his chair back. "That's it. I'm done." He grabbed his stuff and walked out the door.
