Chapter 4

(Oh my god, I apologize for going ghost on you guys!!!)

You and Emma arrived back in class with everyone else. For the last few minutes of your class period was spent having homework given to you. The bell then rang, signaling lunch was now taking place.

You and Emma walked into the lunch room and sat down at your usual lunch table. You looked around and saw some of the Career Day people were eating here. Could Mark possibly be here?

"Hey! Y/N are you even listening?" Emma asked, waving her hand in front of your face.

"Gah! Oh sorry Emma." You muttered. She shook her head and sighed.

"I dunno if he's here." She said. You gave her a questioning look. She rolled her eyes.

"Mark of course!" She said. You nodded.

"Yeah... Hey Emma, whatcha wanna do after school?" You asked.

"How about we go to the park?" She suggested. You nodded.

"Sounds good." You agreed. You then felt a pair of eyes on you. You turned around and saw someone turn their gaze from you and walk out the door. What the? You wondered. You shrugged it off. Probably just someone thinking and staring on accident.

Mark's POV

She seems like a nice girl... I thought as I walked to the cafeteria for the lunch that was to start soon. I stretched as leaned on the wall. A few students came over to me and started to talk to me with exited tones. I smiled and talked with them as more people filled the cafeteria. I then saw Y/N and Emma walk in and go to a table. I should check up on her, see how she's doing. I pushed myself off the wall and parted from the group around me and walked over to Y/N and Emma.

"Hello Y/N, are you doing okay?" I asked with a warm smile. She looked up and me and gave me a slight smile.

"Yep, I'm doing fine now, thank you for helping me from suspension!" Y/N said happily. I nodded, satisfied.

"That's good, I didn't want you to have a bad day." I said with a smile. She smiled back. I then said goodbye to them and walked out of the lunch room. I went to go collect my things before I returned back to my house.

Reader's POV

-Time skip-

Emma and you grabbed your things from your lockers and walked out of the entrance doors along with the crowd of other students. 

"What a crazy day, eh?" Emma asked grinning at me. You nodded.

"Definitely won't forget this day..." You said with a sigh. Emma chuckled as you two neared the park.

"Uhm... Emma, did you feel anyone staring at you at lunch?" You asked, You just couldn't brush it off that easily now.. it was making you feel uneasy. Emma arched an eyebrow at you, confused.

"No, why?" She asked. You looked up at the sky as you both sat down under a tree.

"I dunno if I'm just being paranoid, but at lunch some kid was staring at me and when I looked at them they looked away and walked out the door." You replied. Emma was quiet for a moment.

"Huh, weird." She said, playing with your hair.

You tensed as you felt the creepy feeling of someone watching you again. Emma stopped playing with your hair.

"What is it?" She whispered. You jumped up, as did she. You both looked around.

"Hello..?" You called out. You then noticed it was sunset. Barely anyone was out. You looked over at Emma.

"Let's hurry to your house..." You whispered urgently. She nodded and you darted off. You heard a snap of a twig behind both of you. Someone was definitely following you... Both of you jumped over a fence that closed off to a new segment of the neighborhood and ran through a few people's backyards. A few kids that were outside playing stopped and stared at the two of you, confused. You skidded to a halt at Emma's back gate. She pulled at the lock.

"Damn it... The key isn't around here!!" Emma said, looking around.

"Jump it!" You urged. She leapt onto the top of the wall and struggled to pull herself over. You jumped up onto it but your foot was grabbed. You screamed and kicked at the pursuiter. They yanked you from the wall.

"Emma!" You screamed out. Emma was screaming your name as the kidnapper pulled you to them and covered your mouth, running off with you. Emma dashed into her house, grasping for her phone. She called the police and then had a new idea. She slid into her computer chair and booted up her laptop. She then quickly e-mailed someone and sent it.

"I hope he gets it quickly..." She said terrified. She then ran outside and waited for the police to arrive so they could beginj their search for you.

"Let me go!!" You growled through your assailant's hand, squirming. They grew annoyed with you and slammed their hand onto your head. Everything went fuzzy and your hearing went to nothing except ringing.

I'm going to die.... You thought as your vision went black and your body slack.
