After their first block, Kenzie went straight to her locker to get books for her next class. She put her combination in and grabbed her blue folder and shut the door. She started to walk to her next class, when she sees Dalton in the hallway.
The two lock eyes and Kenzie's heart races. To Kenzie's surprise, Dalton walks up to her.
"Hey! What's your name?" He says.
"Kenzie. And yours?" She decided to pretend like she didn't know his name so she didn't sound creepy.
"My names Dalton. Dalton Cooksey. Hey, is there any chance you're not doing anything after school?"
"Uhm, nope I don't think I'm doing anything." Kenzie says.
"Great! Meet me by my truck after school. If you want. It's a red avalanche."
"Yeah! Okay, see you then." Kenzie smiles, and Dalton smiles back and they both walk to their next class.
At lunch, Dalton and Kenzie would sneak glances at each other every chance they'd get.
Finally, Dalton's best friend, Jordan, had to ask what he kept looking at.
"Dalton, what do you keep staring at?!" Jordan said, looking around."
"That girl."
"What girl?!"
"That one." Dalton pointed at Kenzie.
"Ohhh, okay, I gotcha." Jordan said.
When school let out, Kenzie texted her mom and said she met a new friend and that she might be home a little later.
She saw Dalton standing by his truck and walked towards him.
"Hey! Good to see ya! Ready to go?" Dalton said to Kenzie.
"Go where?" Kenzie asked.
"To Yogurt Your Weigh! Have you ever been?"
"Yeah, a while back. Isn't it a frozen yogurt place where you make your own yogurt basically?"
"Yep, lets go."
Kenzie climbs into the passenger seat in his truck and "Wanted" by Hunter Hayes starts to play and Dalton starts to sing it to Kenzie in joking way.
Kenzie just laughs and smiles at him.
