They finish their ice cream, and throw their cups away then walk outside. He opens the truck door for her and Kenzie gets in. She watches him walk around to the driver's side.

"So I have a question." Dalton says, turning towards her.

"Yes?" She looks at him.

"This weekend there's a party at Joseph Russell's house. Do you wanna go with me?"

"Uhm.."

A party? Kenzie'd never been to a party before. She wasn't really "the partying type".

"Uhm, sure I'll go with you." She says.

"Great! Would you mind bringing a friend for my best friend, Jordan?"

Kenzie's mind quickly goes to Emily.

"Yeah, sure."

"Thanks. I'm really excited for it." Dalton says, leaning closer to Kenzie.

Oh boy. Kenzie had never kissed anybody before.

Dalton kept leaning closer and closer to her. His eyes were closed, so he couldn't see Kenzie's face getting red. When he finally reached her lips, it felt like a lifetime had passed. She was really scared, but she kissed him back.

Dalton leaned back, opened his eyes, and smiled at her. She smiled back.

On the drive to Kenzie's house, they listened to music and talked a little. When they reached her house, Kenzie's mom opened the front door. Her mom was pretty protective over Kenzie so she was dreading this part of the night.

"Who's this?" Her mom said.

"His names Dalton. He took me to Yogurt Your Weigh. Then he took me straight home, I promise." Kenzie says.

Her mom stares at them.

"Okay, since you're in high school now, I guess I have to trust you. But Dalton you better be going. Nice to meet you, but bye."

Kenzie rolls her eyes. Her mom was really embarrassing.

The day of the party, Emily comes home with Kenzie.

"I'm so excited, but I'm really nervous. Who is this guy I'm supposed to meet?" Emily says.

"His names Jordan. He's Dalton's best friend. I've seen him before, you'll thin he's really cute. You'll like him."

Dalton pulls up in Kenzie's driveway. Kenzie says bye to her mom and they walk to his truck. There's three seats in the front so Kenzie sits in the middle and Emily sits by the window.

"Where's this guy I'm meeting? Is he imaginary?" Emily says.

Dalton laughs.

"No, he's already there. Just wait." Dalton says.

Dalton looks at Kenzie and says "Hey!" And kissed her.

They weren't dating but Dalton sure liked to kiss her.

They pull up into Joseph's driveway and see a lot of vehicles already there. They all get out and walk to the door of his house. Dalton sees Joseph standing by the door.

"Hey! This is Kenzie, and her best friend Emily."

"Nice to meet y'all." Joseph says, shaking their hands.

Joseph was pretty tall and had short brown hair.

"Got any clue where Jordan is?" Dalton asks him.

"Last I saw him he was outside on the back porch."

"Okay, thanks!" Dalton gives Joseph a friendly hit on the back.

Kenzie and Emily follow Dalton to the back door and out onto the porch. He walks up to Jordan.

"Jordan! This is Emily." Dalton says.

Jordan looks at Emily and she feels the same way Kenzie did when she saw Dalton.

"Hi." Jordan says.

"Hey.." Emily says, her face getting red.

Joseph walks up to them offers a beer to all four of them. Kenzie and Emily are only 14 and Dalton and Jordan are 17. They are all under age.

But they accept it anyway.
