The birds chirped as the sun began to rise, I had to finish up quickly or I'd be caught. I hurriedly grabbed the spare garments from the monks steam hut and ran out the hut quickly. I did it! I ran and sprung up on one of the many tree branches and giggled in satisfaction.
"Those old geezers have another thing coming.." I sneered in accomplishment as I ran further into the trees until I reached the orphanage. The village was old and rustic, more than boring. So could they try to understand the pleasure I receive when I play around? I let out another half-smile as I dumped the cloths in the river and ran inside. I landed on my bed and laid there. But slowly, my smile faded.
"Guards! Thief!! A Thief has stolen the sacred Cloths!" I heard shouting from the outside. My heart beat sped, they.. they notified the guards?! The rest of the kids got out of the tatami and ran to look outside. I laid there still afraid.
"It must have been one of the children!" One brother suggested.
"Yeah!" Another agreed.
I bolted from bed out of fear and ran out of the orphanage.
"Saizo?! Why are you running, my son?" I ran head first into the man that new me more than anyone in this god awful village.
"B-Brother Suiro! Brother Suiro! I am going to get arrested! I didn't think they'd involve the Samurai!!" I began to whimper and cry as I told Father Suiro. All he did was look at me in a blank expression.
"Saizo, was it you who stole the Talasman?" He asked in a stern tone. The sounds of the guards entering the orphanage rang in my ears.
"I-I didn't know they were sacred!" I cried out.
"Sai-!"
"Him! It is always that boy who plays tricks on the shrine and its Village! No more, I know it was him." My heart beat stopped as I turned to see a brother with a group of samurai tailing him.
"...!"
"Now, now. Brother, he is just a child." Brother Suiro said gently grasping my shoulder tightly.
"No more excuses! This child is a hooligan and he doesn't belong here anymore! He has been defiling these grounds since you brought him here!" The man ordered for the samurai to grab me.
"..! No, let go!!" I cried as the large man through me over his shoulders, I pounded my fists against his back over and over but it was no use.
"..and Brother Suiro. If you object to further consequences' you too, will be exiled."
As the men carried me away, I could see the children surround Suiro, Suiro's face becoming blurry I could only see pain on his face.
"Ooof..!" I was thrown into a cell, "Hey! Let me out!!" I ran to the soldier ready to fight but he closed the cell before I reached him.
"Haha! You are just a kid. No parents, no love, no family. When you die, it will bring joy, because all you do is bring pain. Haha.." He walked down and a slam of a door was heard. I only stared at the cell door laving a silence behind, blank of what he meant by dying. I knew I wasn't loved, never was given attention by anyone but Brother Suiro.. b-but maybe I was just a failure to him too. I wiped aways my tears, because I knew this would be the last time I would cry.
Later on in the Night.
"Wake up!" I heard a loud slam on the doors. I lifted my head in shock from the dirty floor. I wiped my eyes, and rose.
"It's time." I was dragged out of my cell, binded by my wrists, and brought outside.
The brethren had gathered around, I was looking for one in particular, however he was nowhere to be seen.
