The ceremonial burning and good-bye letters

(Doc's POV)

I ran to Legend . Her sister cackled and disappeared . I look at her body and saw she was already gone . Why did this have to happen to her? I've only just found her again. I picked her body up bridal style and brought her in the TARDIS . Rose looked at her sadly and started to cry .

"What happened?" she asked .

"Her sister came back and shot her ." I answered sadly . "Now we have to burn her, one of her cells could rewrite human history so thats what we do when one of us dies, we burn them instead of burying them ."

"Where will we burn her?' Rose asked sadly .

"I don't know, maybe some place pretty, or meaningful, oh I got it! A long time ago I took her on one adventure and we went to a planet with a forest right next to this beautiful beach. I think she might've liked to be burned there ." I answered.

I went to the counsel and drove us to Terabithia. We landed and Rose wrapped Legend in a TARDIS blue blanket so her blood was not everywhere . I walked out carrying her. The sight was exactly how I remembered it, the trees had light purple leaves and the waves on the beach are TARDIS blue like Legend's blanket. I set her on the light blue sands of the beach and start crying again, Legend was dead, she was dead and I would never hear her corny laugh again, or see her marvelous smile, and I would never see her again.

I lit the blanket around her and the yellow flames reminded me of regeneration . She was only in her third body, she still had so much life . I saw the flames die down, for time lords and ladies burn quickly, I watched as her ashes blew way in the wind scattering in the water and sand . I heard Rose stifle a small sob and I hugged her as she cried . After a while I found a large seashell (the ones here were as big as people's heads at smallest) and carved her name in it as nice as I could, it said,

The Legend

RIP

I missed her already and I decided that we had to go back at some point so after me and Rose gathered some flowers and put them on her grave we went back to the TARDIS. I vowed that I would return often and we were off.

I was still down about her death a while after that day so Rose suggested that we write her letters, she said that people do that when they can't get over a death of a friend or a family member. I decided that would be fine.

My letter:

Dear Legend,

I miss you dearly, I always thought that you would be the one burning me. Well, I always wished that. I will miss you for a long time and I don't think that I will ever be the same without you. Rose didn't even know you for a long time and she is very distressed over your death too. I feel like my left heart was ripped out and torn to shreds, stuffed back in, and stabbed. I don't know how I will go on with knowing that you were gone for real. I remember you told me that sometimes having friends hurt when Barbara and Ian left me, now is one of those times. I will always cherish the time we had together and will always regret that the first year I knew you I was so shy that I would say hi to you multiple times in a conversation. You understood through, you never gave up in that year and was fine having an almost silent best friend.

I will always miss having you around, you could understand anything. Like how I'm afraid of the dark, instead of making fun of me you helped me by making the neon lights above my bed. Now who will not chew my head off when I come in their room in the middle of the night asking them to check for monsters in my closet and under my bed? I know Rose would kill me if I ever did that, you, however, made it almost a game, you would do an australian accent and it wouldn't be as scary. I will miss you more than life itself.

The reason I wrote this letter is because I wanted to say good-bye. I never got the chance and now you're gone. I burned you on terabithia. I thought you might've liked that. So I'd better wrap it up, Rose is asking if I'm done yet. Good-bye Legend.

With love,

The Doctor

Here is Rose's letter:

Dear Legend,

I didn't know you all that well but I've heard stories from The Doctor. You sounded like a good person. I'm glad I knew you the little time I did, you were an amazing person. I will miss you and miss all the time we could've had together. Good-Bye Legend, I will miss you.

Love,

Rose

We burned the letters and I did feel a little better. At least I got to say good-bye.
