cupboard doors

i read fics about how, say, phil dies and dan can't move on for a while because of the little, annoying things like how he leaves the cupboard door open.
and i think about how hard that must be to deal with, just the fact that all the cupboard doors are closed.
but i haven't really dealt with that.
and now i'm thinking about how absurd it is that charlie's dead.
he can't just be gone like that, y'know?
