Rosaline's POV
Today's 16 hour shift killed me. Pathetic as it sounds I dozed off before Brantley could make it back to his side of the truck to climb inside. I woke up to him sweeping my hair from the front of my face. "Relax Roz I'll drive ya back to your car at the hospital then follow ya home. "
"Thanks B." I mumbled and curled up on the seat with my head on his shoulder. About 15 minutes later we pulled up next to my Chevy cruze at the hospital. The nap was refreshing but honestly I didn't want to leave my comfy spot at Brantley's side. I could have made it home safely. Thankfully Brantley insisted he follow.
When I pulled up in front of the house it just didn't feel right. "What's wrong Roz?" Brantley asked as he opened the door to my SUV. "I don't know.... Noting looks odd." I answered searching for my house key. "Somethin just doesn't seam right. I know I sound crazy. But could you..." He cut me off before I could ask. "I'll gladly walk ya inside. Hell I'll even take a peak through the house with ya before I go if that will put ya ease darlin." He told me sweetly as we walked to my door. Fiddling with my key I happened to glace behind me before we walked in. That's when I noticed the difference. B must have seen the change in my body language. "What's that all about?" "Did you see the grey truck parked by the light pole? Well I've never seen it before, it doesn't belong to any of my neighbors, and now I'm really getting the creeps. Especially after seeing that creeper again at the hospital." I answered trying to keep my cool. He saw right through it. "Hey hey hey, calm down. I don't have be anywhere. I'll sleep right here on the couch until we get this sorted out. Hell I'll even walk back out to my truck so I can catch the plate number. Buddy at the sheriff's station owes me one. He can run it for me. How's that sound?" I smirked, "it sounds great but we both know your big ass isn't fitting on that couch." We both laughed. I poked my head out the door as B went to his truck. Just in case something hinky happened. Walking back inside he shook his head at me. "You seriously need to lay off the criminal minds and murder shows Roz." "How did you." "I'm not blind dear. You have like 10 seasons on your book shelf right by the door. " I laughed at my self. "Go take shower while I call my buddy. He should have some answers when you get out. " Brantley practically pushed me up the steps. I couldn't help feeling safe around him. Knowing he was down stairs put me at ease. The odd thing was I've never been like this before. Guess you truly don't know what youve been missing or needed until in walks into your life.
