Part I- Camerupt

I never thought it would be this way.

Yes, I knew Tabitha was the kind of guy most girls would have as a friend, not a boyfriend.

Yes I knew a shy, introverted girl like me had no chance with an extrovert like Tabitha.

But nevertheless, I was truly and deeply in love with him.

We were riding on Maxie's Camerupt to Mt. Chimney. Since there were three of us and only two humps, Tabitha squeezed in next to me on mine. I laid my head on his shoulder. He looked at me and smiled.

It was like riding on a white Rapidash into the sunset- except it wasn't quite as romantic, and Maxie's Camerupt didn't go fast like a Rapidash. But it was warm, and the volcano-humps were like natural seat-heaters.

"Tabitha..." I began. "I.....I....um...." I stuttered, trying to tell him that I loved him.

"You what?" Tabitha asked.

"I'll tell you later..." I said, embarrassed.

"Okay." Tabitha said, a little disappointed.

"Please stop talking!" Maxie yelled at the both of us. "I am trying to give my Camerupt commands as to where to turn. He can't hear me if you two are giggling and making goo-goo eyes at each other!"

Tabitha and I looked at each other and decided it was safest to remain silent. I continued to put my head on his shoulder. Tabitha put his arm around me. "Court? You in there?" he said. I wanted to say it, but I was too shy. "Hello? Earth to Courtney!" he yelled. I finally gathered up the courage to respond.

"Yes?"

"Are we still pals, Court?"
"Of course we are." I would say we were something more, but I just couldn't say it.

Maxie interrupted us. "Okay, we're at Mt. Chimney. Get off." he said. Tabitha got off and helped me down. I smiled at him. "Thank you." I said. Tabitha looked at me. "You're welcome." he said as we walked over to the volcano.
