My eyes flutter open to a black abyss, the sound of screeching metal and clanking chains, my lungs burning... where am I? Who am I? What the hell is going on? These thoughts running through my head, why can't I remember anything? I feel around to work out my surroundings but only to feel harsh, cold metal. I feel like I'm moving but I can't be sure. "h-hello?" my voice hoarse, maybe I haven't spoken in a while. The room box thingy jolts and picks up pace, gravity throwing me back against the floor again. I want to scream but I don't. A red light emits relieving me of the darkness. I can make out some shapes of boxes, crates and barrels, seriously this is freaking me out now. I look up to see a small white light breaking through a crack, crap I'm going to die!

The box keeps on moving not slowing down, the light gets closer by the second. I close my eyes and brace myself for impact. The box jolts again to a stop, the red turns green and then goes out leaving me in the darkness once more. I can hear a murmuring coming from the other side of the ceiling... wait am I underground? The crack in the ceiling widens letting blinding light burst in, I move to the corner and shield my eyes. The murmuring becomes louder and I can make out some distinct voices talking. "Hey shanks move back so I can get in!" and male voice booms over the top. I start to cower back further, adrenaline pumping through me, I don't know why but I have the urge to run and never stop. "Gally! Where's the greenie?" Greenie? What the hell is a greenie!? "Maybe if you slintheads shut up for a sec and bloody let Gally look in the box!" another male voice says sternly. The mumbling grew again, the box jolts again and I can hear feet moving towards me. The light is suddenly blocked "Rise and shine gre-... the shuck!?" I open my eyes and see a strong looking guy probably around my age... wait how old even am I? "Alby! You might want to see this!" The boy shouts up. I press myself against the wall and start to stand up. I look to see where he's looking and my jaw drops. About twenty boys are all gathered around the opening of this box and are staring at me. The murmuring subsides. I feel numb as the adrenaline continues to flow through me, my heart races ten to the dozen. Run. Just RUN!

Without another thought I push past the boy thatmust be Gally and jump up onto the crates. I leap out of the box and I justrun, letting my legs carry me anywhere, just as long as I can get away. I hearshouts and cheers behind me, why are thecheering? "We got a runner!" I heardmultiple times but it soon stops and I get further away. I don't know where I'mgoing but I turn around and see that they're chasing after me! I push harderignoring the burning sensation in my lungs, Ihave to keep going. I look up to see a shaky looking building and I turnand sprint towards it. I let my legs carry me without a thought as to what Iwas doing. Jumping up onto more boxes and then springing on top of thebuilding. I carry on running until I reach the edge, my arms wind milling aroundmaking sure I don't lose my balance and fall over. I'm cornered! I thought and as I did I finally took in mysurroundings.

A large green open field with some shoddy looking buildings, aforest of some sort and to top it all we are encased by giant concrete walls! They are covered in ivy but it doesn't reach the top. Shuffling footstepsawaken me from my thoughts and I look behind to see some of chasers comingtowards me. The one leading the way caught my attention, fairly tall with dirtyblond shaggy hair. He's holding his hands up in almost surrender, probably trying to show me he means noharm... can I really trust them? My heart quickens in pace again and Istart to panic. I turn behind me again to see not that far in front is a tower.I turn back to the boys to see that they have stopped. The blond moves slightlycloser, slowly. What am I to them somestartled animal? "We're not going to hurt you, don't worry." His voice wascalm but with a hint of plea. I turn back to the tower and then back to the boyand then it clicks. With a smile and a little wave I turn and launch myself atthe tower. I scramble over to the other side and without any more thought Ithrow myself off in a leap of faith. Free falling until I land and push myselfinto a roll.

My body numb from the adrenaline I push myself off the floor andstart to sprint again, this time theopening. Forgetting about the commotion behind me I continue to sprint. Two hundred metres... I turn and seethey're still chasing me, I continue to gain ground on them. One hundred and fifty metres... my lungsstart to burn again, like a raging fire but I ignore it. One hundred, come on! As I look back up I see a tall figure at theopening. Gally. He stands blocking the way, almost menacingly. As I get closerhe starts to walk towards me. Push pasthim, get out of here...NOW! I change my direction at the last second but it'stoo late, I feel an impact on my right side and I'm flung to my left, fallingto the ground I let out a frustrated scream. I hit my head against the solidground, everything starts to become fuzzy. Nodon't you dare, come on hang in there. As everything starts to go black Iget one last look at the opening. It's calling to me. At last the darknessengulfs me into an embrace again.
