You sigh and relax further into Niall's chest, nuzzling your face into his neck and taking a deep whiff of his musky scent. When he picked you up an hour ago in his beat-up pickup truck to go on a "surprise trip" you were a bit apprehensive, but this was beyond perfect.

You shivered as a cool breeze tickles the tops of your shoulders. Niall pulls one of the many blankets in the bed of his truck over you and lean up against one of the many pillows resting against the back window. You peer up at his jaw, noticing a bit of the sandy stubble appearing there. You lean up to press your lips softly against his sharp jaw.

His eyes are trained at the sky, one of the most beautiful skies you've ever seen in your life. You are parked in the middle of a gassy field, snuggled up in the blanket-filled bed of the truck. It is beautiful, clear night, and millions of stars shone up above you.

You wish you could reach up and pluck them from the sky, one by one, and collect them in your pocket. Those tiny pinpricks shone so brightly that you didn't need any other illumination, and you could see the light shining off of Niall's hair and the top of his cheekbones and reflecting in his eyes, giving him a sort of inner glow.

Niall is your star. Not just a pop star, but your star. He is your constant light in this world, and even though a lot of the times he's far away, he can still shine in the blackest of nights and lead you home to where you belong.

You close your eyes and sigh contentedly, listening to the soft strums of Niall's guitar. Neither of you exchanged any words, but just being there under the stars in near silence, feeling your bodies pressed together, spoke for both of you. It is enough.
