Chapter 14
Eva's POV
I was honestly expecting someone other than Carol to burst through the door, scaring the living fish out of me.
She stopped dead in her tracks, her eyes narrowing onto Will and I.
"Oh...um hey Eva! Just thought I'd stop by, you know..." she mumbled, her eyes flickering back and forth in my current situation.
I crossed my arms, my eyes going cold.
For some reason, I believed a stranger - Alpha at that - over my best friend, whom as far as I can remember, has been there for me.
"Cut the sh*t, Carol. I want to know what's going on, and I want to know now," I told her, backing away from both of them so I could stare into their guilty expressions.
There was no reason that Carol would be in my room with a small grey key in her hand, at this time of day.
Her large doe like eyes widened as she looked at me, biting her lip. I watched carefully as her eyes flickered to Will, a silent 15 second conversation going on between them.
This was probably what angered me the most at that point, and honestly, I didn't feel like keeping my cool any longer.
I can't say exactly what it was that made something in me snap, but I got a sudden burst of agony, like Carol had stabbed my head.
I ran over to Carol, snatching the key from her palm, and throwing it at the wall.
Everything seemed to go in slow motion then, starting from me grabbing Carol on the throat, and pushing her onto my bed.
My wolf prowled, dancing in the midst of my eyes.
Something burst inside of me, like a pie in the microwave, and I let my wolf get what she wanted.
I knew why now.

Will's POV
Just as Carol burst in the room, my senses went on high alert, from the point of my Mate backing away from me, to Carol's eyes snapping towards me.
Her eyes told me everything, and the small glistening key in her hand made me understand what was happening.
It was time to go.
The accusation that Eva's eyes possessed made my wolf whimper inside. His Mate was unhappy, and he did not know how to comfort her from so far away.
