Troye

Breathing in the fresh Wisconsin air, I knew I was home. I was used to the bustling streets and polluted air of Chicago, and being in a calmer environment was much needed. I knew basically everyone here, and they all knew me. Honestly, even though Chicago was great, nothing compared to camp.

I glanced at the other guys in my cabin. Dan and Phil? I remember when they were seven and it was their first year at camp. Dan peed his pants (he was wearing Winnie-the-Pooh underwear, nonetheless) and Phil named a squirrel 'Winston.' Joey and Daniel? My best friends since fourth grade. I knew some serious shit about them. Ricky, JC, Kian, and Trevor? JC and Kian were fuckboy-ish, but they were cool. Ricky and Trevor were their friends, even though you wouldn't really expect it sometimes. Alfie and Marcus were also there. Alfie was nice, but he was notorious for taking Phil's ideas for pranks and making people think they were his own. Marcus was a sports obsessed, very fit, and pretty chill guy. I only noticed one new guy. He was a bit shorter than me, with brown hair and green eyes. He was cute. Very cute.

I averted my eyes to the other guys.

"Hey guys! We'll be going to our cabin now to assign bunkmates and to bring our luggage in!" our unit head, Tyler, announced.

My cabinmates and I walked to our cabin. It was a pretty short walk, and I just took in the scenery. Nothing had changed. The trees were still waving in the breeze, and it was just how I'd remembered it.

We finally reached our cabin. Out of the four cabins in our area, we were the one closest to the girls' cabins. JC and Kian were probably very excited about that. We all sat down in a circle in front of the cabin.

"CABIN 10B, SHUT THE HELL UP!" a counselor shouted. "My name is Caspar. I'm going to be your counselor. That's Joe, he's a fuckin idiot. And Ben will be your Junior Counselor. Any questions?"

"Isn't Ben, you know, a bit young to be our counselor?" Dan asked. I could see where he was coming from. Ben looked like he was our age, maybe younger.

"I'm not twelve!" Ben cried. "I just look twelve. I'm sixteen, and I'll be turning seventeen in about a week, so I am, in fact, able to be a counselor."

"Let's do some icebreaker games! Icebreakers, more like friend-makers!" Ben said. "We're going to go around the circle and say where we're from, our names, and something you like to do for fun! I'll start. My name is Ben J Pierce, I'm from Dallas, and I'm relatable! Dan, you go next!"

"Hi," Dan said. "My name is Dan. I'm from Los Angeles. I don't really know what I like to do. I usually just sit inside and play video games and think about existence."

"That's so uninteresting, Dan," Phil said to him.

"Well what would you do, Phil?" Dan responded, stretching out the "L" in "Phil."

"Not that!"

Dan rolled his eyes, and Phil started.

"I'm Phil Lester, and I'm from San Francisco. I really like animals and music."

All the other guys went, and said the information about them, and then, it was finally my turn.

"I'm Troye Sivan Mellet, and I'm from Chicago. I really like to sing and act and just, ya know, hang out with my friends," I said.

"Hey Troye," Joey said, winking.

I winked back. Joey was a huge flirt.

"Connor, you're up!" Ben said.

"Um, I'm Connor. Franta. Connor Franta. I'm from La Crescent, MInnesota, and I like photography, running, and swimming," Connor said nervously.

"Hey there Sporty Spice," Joey said flirtatiously.

"Hi."

Joe cleared his throat and started to speak.

"Okay lads, find a bunkmate."

"Hey Connor Franta," I said, walking up to Connor.

"Um, hi, Troye Sivan Mellet," he responded.

"I see you've remembered my name. Can you remember that we're going to be bunkmates?"

"Troye, did you just use a pickup line to ask me to be your bunkmate?" Connor asked jokingly.

"Well, if you put it that way, yes."

"Sure, I'll be your bunkmate."
