"I know that camp rules, but you gotta know the camp rules," our counselor Mamrie said.

"Puns already? We need to have an intervention!" Grace responded.

"Shut up, Helbig. I'm the counselor, you're the camper. I make the rules, you ignore them, then you get in trouble for ignoring the rules," Mamrie retorted.

We all laughed. Mamrie was a longtime counselor and Grace was a longtime camper. They got along so well that you would think that they'd known each other from birth.

"WE LOVE YOU, MISS MAMRIE!" Grace yelled, pretending to be an orphan from Annie.

"Grace, you gotta speak up," my best friend, Hannah, said. "Mamrie's getting old, and she's losing her hearing."

"Hannah Hart! I heard you! You assholes think that anyone over twenty is elderly."

We all laughed. Our counselor, Colleen, chimed in.

"Girls, I think you may be right. Mamrie has been drinking a lot of white wine and talking about wanting to move to Florida lately."

"Fuck off, Ballinger."

"You know it's true."

Mamrie rolled her eyes and changed the subject.

"You know the rules. No having sex, no stealing, no running away, no bullying, no drugs, no alcohol, no weapons, no lifelong grudges, yadda yadda yadda."

"Girls, now that Old Miss Mamrie has finished boring you with the rules, please find your bunkmate," Louise, the junior counselor, said.

I immediately ran over to Nikkie. Nikkie was one of my favorite people in the entire world. She was beautiful, funny, and HELLA good at makeup.

"Ingrid! My loveeee!" Nikkie yelled when she saw me.

"Heyyy Nikkie!" I said, hugging her.

"You know I'm bottom bunk, right?" Nikkie asked.

"Yep. It's like I haven't ever been in a cabin with you before," I responded sarcastically.

All the other girls had already paired up. Zoe and Tanya, Shannon and Kathleen, Rachel and Jenna, and Grace and Hannah.

"Nilsen! Don't think you can ignore me like that!"

I turned around to see who had said that and saw Hannah.

"HANNAH!" I yelled, running up to her. We immediately hugged. I hadn't seen her since February, and I missed her so much.
