I couldn't go back. I can't, not now, now that I'm free. I sprint faster into the thickening woods. The afternoon sunlight wasn't breaking through the tree tops of the which caused the entire scenery to become dark. My breathing became steady once I pulled out my weapon and stopped for a break. I shot everything out of fear with my brain wheels sparkling, trying to think clearly. But I couldn't really think clearly because I'm in the woods panicking, in complete fear and danger, exposed to whatever danger lurked in the shadows. I forcefully made my legs move forward, watching for my predator.
Its going to get dark soon and I really and obviously didn't think nor plan this well, did I?
A rustle to my right makes my ears twitch and fear begins to claw at me once more. I load the gun and position it to where the noise came from. Another rustle, except this one was to my far left. I swirl on my heel and keep the gun trained. Then a third rustle causes my blood to go dead cold. It came from behind me, I turned once more in time to find a shadowy figure run. My hands began to shake, knowing that the creature was much more bigger and buff than I was and if I shot, its likely it'd attack me and rip at my throat.
So I played stupid.
"Who's there!" I shouted, though I didn't except an answer.
"A huntress?" A voice spoke. My breathe hitches and I trained my eyes to look in the dark. I made out an outline of a huge man with a weapon strapped to his shoulder. 'This wasn't a creature. Its human.'
"Why is a lovely huntress doing out here? Alone?" Another voice piped in.
"Look! Its a Royal!" Another but more manly voice spoke out.
"She should be Jason's partner," another voice recommends. 'How many men are there?'
"Please show yourselves." I particularly begged.
"How old are you?" A man emerges from the shadows and stands at least a good 5 feet away from me. I wasn't able to see his facial structure but it didn't bother me really. But what I was able to make out, was a wolve's mask made out of entirely out of wood and carved with perfection, the mask covered his entire face except his lips and jaw.
"Sixteen," I mumble. A few other men stepped out in the dim sunlight all wearing a wolve's marks.
One figure in particular caught my eye. She stood at least two to three feet shorter than the men, she had an animal's fur cape strapped to the shoulders of her leather dress that hooked onto her curves and small figure. She also didn't seem to be a man at all, her chest was visible which made it possible that she was a female.
"She's a minor. Look at her! Her body isn't curved, she's small and seems weak. She won't last a single week in our training!" The female barks. What also made her stick out was that she didn't have a wolve's mask she had an orange and white tiger stripped mask on her face that still didn't cover her lips nor jaw like the other masks.
'Such trash she's talking! Look at her! She's petite, tiny and short. But she also seems to be taking charge of this pack of masked men.'
"Tigress, as right as you are. Minors grow into women. By then she'll be carved out by the gods." The man who first emerged says.
"But then Jason will be certainly unpleased. She'll be trash to him by the time she hits 18." Tigress hisses.
"She could be for entertainment," a man to my right chirps.
"She could just please men, instead of mate." Another man pitches in.
"What's your name, girl?" Tigress moves in front of me and swings my arms to my sides.
"Victoria..." I manage. She leans forward, searching for something in my eyes.
"Maidens name?" She leans back and tilts her head the side.
"Hawke." She steps back now.
"Daughter of Abraham and April?" She then questions.
"Yes," I blurt out.
"Such a pity you're from a family of Royal Hunters." She tsks as she shakes her head to side to side. "Take her to Duke Tony and Duchess Miranda. Their son will be most pleased with the filthy creature." She snarls. "Diesel, Kade, and Alister will accompany you, my dear." She turns to the masked men. "Boys, we still need to hunt." The other men begin to follow her off into the vast darkness of shadows as three different men move in front of me.
'Oh what did I get myself into now?'
