Alistair sat in his room, reading his journal over and over since the strange woman had pleaded for him to help her, but he had come to notice that she never said what she needed help with. He knew he should have been more hospitable towards her but he didn't know who she was and as he turned the page; a small letter fell out from it so he picked it up and began reading its contents.
To my dearest Alistair,
Thank you for the lunch and our time together. It was, as always, one of the best moments of my life. It is a shame that my father cannot see past his own actions and realise how much we love each other, but unfortunately our laws can only let us meet a cruel and deathly end. I look forward to our next meeting; I shall be where I have always been when I am waiting for you.
Love Victoria.
Alistair read the letter over and over again until he looked at the diary entry that he had written when he had received the letter it was almost like it was a part of a secret alternative life that he had no idea about, almost like he was reading someone else's journal.
March 1932
I met with her again, I miss her when she is not in my company but her father will not allow us to be together so we will always have to meet in secret. I guess this is the way it has to be until things change. Victoria was always there at our special place, but this time it was different. She had a sad expression on her face and she was tensed like something was bothering her. It wasn't long before she told me. Someone from the Montgomery coven was coming here and Edric won't tell her why. What is the old bastard planning for her this time?
"Who is Victoria? Surely he... I mean, I would have written an entry describing her or something." And as soon as he said so, a picture of her fell from another entry as he flicked through the pages. He held it up to his face, instantly captivated by her beauty. Alistair's eyes widened as soon as he realised that he had drawn this as she was sitting in the seat he currently sat in now. As he stared at it more, he began to see the image change to the one of the woman begging for his help.
"She must be Victoria... that is why she asked for my help. She knew me but somehow... I had forgotten. Surely there is something I can do to change this..." He looked at the entry in which the image had fallen from and he read it, a soft smile creeping in on his face while he read more about her.
February 1933
Victoria came to me last night because she had another nightmare about her father dying again, a tragic thing that was, especially so soon after losing her mother. She sat in her usual chair and she stared at her tea, it was her favourite but she never touched it. It was as if that time had stopped and she had frozen. I drew her like she was, her eyes and complexion have always captivated me and I hated to see her so upset, it was like she was a different person. I comforted her and she bit me in my favourite spot, which then led to one of the most magical nights ever made in Vampire history.
I love her so. One day I will ask her to marry me, but alas that cannot happen until the law of love between a Royal and a commoner such as myself change...
Alistair continued to read the pages of his journal in hopes to gather a better understanding of the strange woman he was in love with, but had no memory of. He sighed and as he slowly began to grow frustrated, he threw his journal to the table, spilling his tea everywhere.
"Blast this infernal memory!" The tea that was spilled on the table began to seep into one of the blank pages of the journal and Alistair looked on as it began to spell out words hidden on the page. He leaned forward and read it aloud.
