As all love stories are, every of them has bitterness and sweetness in them.
Through this short, 4 page length story, I would like to express how grateful I am that someone published the Chocolate Emergency, because it had touch my heart in ways I can't explain. The words, the advice that Devlin gave are important to me and for the way I live. In short, I learn a lot of things from the story from the girl who forgot to laugh.
Thankyou for reminding me that in the end, life will have a happy ending.
Even in the most unexpected ways.

Today was my birthday.
Devlin and I was never a lovey-dovey type of couple, but somehow he managed to convince me that he would treat me like a princess in this very 'so-called' special day. I finally gave up, realizing all along that it made him happy, and as long as he is happy, so am I.
That is how I end up in front of his apartment door, wearing a lilac high waist dress which he bought for me (and he even knew my actual size, how surprising!) and I even put on a little make up to let him know that I am excited for whatever he's planning (again, as long as he is happy). I knocked his apartment door twice, and (I must admit) he appeared dazzling in a white shirt and a pair of denim jeans.
"You look really beautiful," He said smiling and took my hand. "I mean you always look beautiful, and I don't mean to say that today you look beautiful because of the make up or the dress, I just want to say that you look beautiful today because –"
I laughed; it is cute to see him ramble when he's nervous which does not happen very often (trust me), "Devlin, I get it."
He smiled sheepishly, "Okay, so your first surprise is in my room."
I followed him as he went to his room. Before we opened the door to his room, he made me closed my eyes and I did as what he told me. I was so nervous to see what he had gotten me, and when he asked me to open my eyes, I was really surprised.
In his bed there were different kinds of chocolate stack together that shaped like a cake. I swear Devlin must have bought every brand of chocolate and I can't believe that this big chocolate is finally mine! Chocolate fudge!
"I decided that chocolate is a life savior, not only it saves you but it also saves me by bringing you closer to me," He said slowly, and I almost laughed when I saw his cheeks reddened.
"And I thought you were never this cheesy."
"Oh, I can be as cheesy as much as you want it," He said smiling and I smiled back too. If he keeps smiling like that, I swear on my most favourite chocolate bar that my heart would explode.
"I don't doubt it," I said knowing that he could arrange simple words into a lovely story, a gift that sadly he couldn't use in front of his father. "Let's get to surprise number 2, shall we?"
