I'm a Child of Hades

(1) A lion with wings

Great. Middle school dance is just what we need to get out of this hell. I'm Bianca di Angelo, and you will soon learn my annoying brother is, Nico di Angelo.

We go to Westover Hall. It's a hellish boarding school that the state pulled us into. Nico doesn't notice. He's always into his Mythomagic game. It's all about these Greek monsters, gods, myths, blah blah blah. Honestly I could care less if Zeus or whatever got less attack points.

Anyways, so here we were at a crappy boarding school dance. Fun.

" Hey Bianca?" Nico whispers to me "Where do you think I could find Hades's figurine?"

"Nico how would I know. That stupid mytho-whatever game is not my type" I throw back at him. We start arguing. I catch a glimpse of Dr.Thorn standing in front of the doorway leading 4 kids I haven't ever seen before.

"Nico" I point at the kids "have you ever seen those kids before?" He glances over trying to look at them while a big chunk of his black hair swings in his left eye. "Nope. Weird." I notice them start to dance, what's wrong with me they are just regular kids. I turn away and continue arguing with Nico.

Then Dr.Thorn comes up to us and whispers, " Ok children come with me now" He was looking around at the four kids eyeing them suspiciously then looks away quickly. He steers us out of the dance hall and into a dark room.

I hear footsteps. Suddenly one of the boys from the " new kids group " was standing there with a full on golden sword. My mouth hangs wide open, then I realize what I'm doing and quickly close it.

But how? Who is this kid and why does he have a sword? Suddenly I froze in horror to see a giant lion with wings behind him " what the-" I blurt out in shock. I'm guessing that was Dr.Thorn.

"It's okay I'm not going to hurt you" he says while lowering the top of his sword. Nico nor me answered. We were trying to signal to the dark haired boy about Dr.Lion wings behind him. " My names Percy" he says calmly.

"I'm going to get you out of here safely" he says trying to explain. Suddenly I clench my fists in surprise. It was to late. He didn't see Dr.Thorn soon enough.

ZOOOOOOOOOOOP!

A projectile hits him right in the shoulder and I wince. Nico stands there like a statue mouth wide open like a lunatic.

Percy gets pushed into a wall with lots of force and starts battling some invisable Dr.Thorn thing. We watch in horror. I grab Nicos hand and he whispers to me, "That's a manticore, it has 3,000 attack points!"

We get steered outside where the other kids soon join. I couldn't quite process it all. Suddenly Percy falls back. I stumble and manage to catch him. "thanks" he murmured. "what is that and how do we fight him?" I ask. "Still working on it" he grumbled

He gets up and attempts to battle but all the other fighters are pushed off or hurt. no way we could help.

Then I hear it. A fog horn blows and huntresses charge into battle.
