Ava-

My sides ached, and my cheeks were exhausted and getting tight. All night I had been laughing and smiling. From the moment she picked me up, to now. All night she had been giving me butterflies, and making my heart flutter. This was just our first date, how could I get so comfortable so fast? I'm an open person, sure. I'm very friendly, and I can get comfortable with people quicker than some may like. But this, no this had to be a new record. She made it seem like we had known each other for years. She made it feel like, we were just catching up. It's the way she looks at me. As if I'm the only woman in the room, no the whole world. Everything I say she latches on to ever syllable of every word, and her eyes. Oh God her eyes! All night I felt like her hazel eyes had been staring and just drawing me in closer and closer. It was like being seduced by the prettiest, most sly devil around.

It was like she saw me as a flawless goddess. She doesn't know I spent two hours at the beauty salon waiting to get my hair done, and shaved to perfection . She doesn't have a clue that I was almost in tears because I couldn't find the perfect dress. She doesn't see that my winged eyeliner isn't even or the eyebrow pencil I used is dark brown, and not jet black as it suppose to be. I had the hardest, most difficult time piecing together my hair, make-up and outfit. In fact I was almost about call and cancel. But see none of that matters now. She made me forget what a struggle it was to perfect my own imperfections, and I'm not sure if anyone has ever done that before especially not on a first date. This could be the start to something beautiful.

"Ava, are you gonna get dessert?" Mona asked.

"Uh I was thinking about it." I said.

"Do you like chocolate and caramel?" Mona asked.

"I do. I love it, probably more then I should but yes." I said.

"Then you should try the double chocolate caramel marble cake with a side of vanilla ice cream. It's perfection." Mona said.

"That sounds delicious. I think I'll get that. What will you have?" I asked.

"Cheesecake, with a side of strawberries, maybe two slices. Heaven knows I don't need it. " Mona smiled.

"Why not?" I asked.

"I hate discussing this but I'm trying to shed a few pounds." Mona smiled.

"For what?" I said.

"Just because." Mona smiled.

"I think you look good just where you are." I said. Mona smiled so her dimples showed.

"Really?" Mona said.

"Of course." I said.

"You're too kind. Thank you. Hey I been meaning to tell you this but I love your dress. Where'd you get it?" Mona asked.

"Oh thank you. I bought it from my shop." I said.

"Yeah you told me you own a boutique. If you have dresses like that I'm gonna have to pay you all a visit." Mona smiled.

"We do, and you should. I never got what you did for a living." I asked.

"Oh I am uh well I am currently not working because I needed a break. And a vacation just wouldn't cut it so I kind of took a leave of absence just to get some things straight." Mona said.

"Wow that's interesting. Is this break helping?" I asked.

"Yeah it's moving forward. I'll return to work soon but not too soon." Mona said.

"That's good. I understand that. Like my job I'm working with women, most of them are really nice, others are not so nice. But I think when working with people in general you just have good and bad days." I said.
