I stared at Levi in confusion. "What the hell do you mean by that?!" I asked, feeling somewhat angry. "Jean may be a bit of an asshole but that doesn't mean you beat the shit out of him, not to mention, blind him!" I shouted, lifting my arms and smacking them against my thighs. Levi watched me, his face void of all emotion.
"Well," Levi started, he seemed hesitant, it's the first time I've seen him so... unsure of himself, "I assumed I was protecting you." I don't know why, but I blushed. Levi caught sight of that and cleared his throat, his face remained apathetic. "You are my slave, it would be much harder for me to get my work done without you here."
I suddenly felt jealous, the sight of Erwin and Levi popped into my head. "What about Erwin? Could he help you?" I asked, the raven's eyes narrowed at me before he replied, smirking softly.
"Not in the way you help me." Levi clapped his hands together, the motion dismissing our conversation and welcomed a new one. "We are going back into the field, another level five but it won't be random. Get dressed." I nodded, I felt fear. Just before I walked out, I asked one last question.
"Where's Jean?"
"I sent him to his boyfriend."
"Y-you... killed him?!" I shouted, Levi scoffed, shaking his head.
"Do you think I'm that kind of person?" He asked, I shook my head. "I heard... Marco was your friend, is that correct?" I nodded. "I brought him back but it's not a simple thing. Only death can pay for life." Levi sighed heavily. "Jean brought in a kid named Thomas, after we made a deal, and I... killed him."
Thomas? "W-was he blonde?" I asked, scared of the answer, he nodded. I clapped my hand over my mouth and stifled a sob, Levi looked shocked. "Did he suffer?" I felt weak, Jean did something so selfish, he won't get off easily. Levi shook his head, I nodded, the tears wouldn't stop. "Where...?" I started to question before I was cut off by a small sob.
Levi didn't reply, just walked closer to me, placing his hand on the small of my back and leading me out of the room. I wanted to push his hand away but the heat radiating through my shirt was oddly comforting. Subconsciously, I walked closer to him, but it wasn't enough.
We walked down the stairs and made a right, continuing to walk until we reached another set of stairs. Once we were down those, I could hear pained moaning, it was low and deep, it was sort of creepy. The unique smell of blood filled my nose, I plugged it quickly but Levi acted as if he couldn't smell it. You know how you get so used to your home's smell that you can't smell anything? Yeah, I think that's how it is with him and blood.
Hundreds of suits of armor stood against the wall, most of them had a weapon next to them. I had to stop myself from touching them many times. "They are over here." Levi said, finally breaking the silence, his hand slid off my back, briefly brushing against my ass. I tried to brush it off as an accident, but, I think, part of my wanted it to be on purpose.
The smell grew stronger, and the moans now mixed in with sobs. We turned a corner and I saw it. My stomach churned and I gagged, covering my mouth and crying once again. Thomas, Marco, and Jean were in a small area that was completely empty. Jean was sobbing as he rocked Marco back and forth in his arms, I could tell something was off.
Thomas sat with his back against the wall, his head hung low, allowing me to see the splatter of blood and brains behind him. It was quick, he didn't feel anything. I returned my attention to Marco, he wasn't moving at all. Levi leaned against the wall, crossing his arms over his chest and closing his eyes. I wanted to hate him, but I couldn't.
Jean seemed to finally realize our presence and began raging at Levi. "Why isn't he moving?! Didn't you bring him back?!" Levi simply nodded, not bothering to open his eyes. Jean laid Marco down on the floor, I gasped at the sight of him. He was missing an eye and arm, both on the right side of his body, and his one good eye was staring blankly. "Make him move!"
