Chapter 5 (warning topic may be triggering to some readers)

NAMIS pov

Calum was so sweet. I know we started dating after literally a day and about 8 hours of talking but, ok this will sound a little cheesy but, it felt as if we had a connection. I was driving home and once I got there my mom was in the living room.
"Hey mom what's wrong?" I asked. She looked at me sniffling.
"Mom?" I asked worried making my way (downtown) to the couch where she sat.
"Honey your dad is- is-" by now she was full on sobbing. I kinda figured what she going to say and my eyes started to fill with tears.
"He died." She said after sniffling. I silently cried, wanting to be strong for my mom.
"H-" my voice cracked from the 'silent' crying.
"How?" I asked after clearing my throat.
"Suicide." She said barely above a whisper. Once I heard that I speed walked to my room. Once I closed the door I fell to the ground and started to cry. I was screaming and gasping. I built up the upper body strength to get off the floor and go on my bed. I looked at my dresser. On top of it was a framed picture of my dad and I giving the shaka. It was the day I caught my first wave, I was 12. I pulled out my phone and found Calum's contact under 'lil squish'. It was 11:48 I doubt he's up at this time but I decided to call anyway. It rang once and he picked up right away.
"Are you ok what's wrong?" He asked probably worried to why I called so late.
"Cal? M-my-" I started crying.
"My. Dad. Committed suicide." I finally let out hiccuping between the first two words.
"Stay right there." And with that he hung up.
I turned to my side pulling the blanket with me, crying. I just wanted to be held and soothed. My mom doesn't look like she was doing to well. She had empty beer cans surrounding her, she's never been a big drinker so it scared me that there were that much cans.

It was midnight and I was still awake waiting for Calum, hoping he would show up. I had a door in my room that led to a balcony. I heard a knock on that door and saw that it was Calum. I slowly got up and opened the door. We just stood still for about 40 seconds then I started crying. Once I started to cry his face dropped and he quickly walked up to me wrapping his arms around me and pulling me into the tightest and most comforting hug I've ever had. He started to put his hand on my head and down my hair.
"Babe sshhh I know it's ok Nami you're ok I'm here I'm here it's ok."
I felt another pair of arms wrapped around me. I turned around to see Luke with tears in his eyes. He and my dad were very close. I felt two more pairs of arms hug me tightly. They belonged to Ben and Jack. It was the most comfort I've felt in a long time. I just cried and listened to Calum when he told me they were all there for me.
We all sat on my bed and Calum wrapped his legs around me so that when I laid down my head was to his chest. We were all silent and eventually all fell asleep.
