"Marco, I don't think this is a good idea... I mean, it's the Science Department..." whined Star. She and Marco were visiting Mewni, for a little "vacation" from monster fighting. But Marco had other plans.

"C'mon, it'll be fun! Plus, I've never, ever seen Mewnian technology before, except for the wand..." Marco pondered this for a moment. " But that's besides the point! Please, Star?" He pleaded, making puppy-dog eyes while holding a laser-shooting puppy.

"NO!" yelled Star.

"Please!" begged Marco.

"NOOO!"

"Yes!"

"Why?"

"It'll be interesting!"

"Please, no!"

"C'mon!"

"OK, but only because you're my boyfriend."

Marco was shocked by this last statement, but quickly shook it off. The Mewnian Science Department! What was it like? What did they do? Wonders galore! "How are we planning to get in?"

Star looked at him with a combination of annoyance and thought. "Well, I definitely do NOT want to be seen in here, soo..." Taking out her trusty wand, she pointed it at the grate.

Marco started, "That's kinda cliché...-"

"Nobody cares!" Screamed Star. " Sweet Honeybee Grate Blast!!!"

Instantly, the grate was blown off of its screws. Marco had to jump back in order not to get hit.

"Ladies first," he said sarcastically. Star rolled her eyes and went in, entering the labyrinthian complex that was the MDOS.

"Woah, where are we?" Marco gasped. They had made their way into the best part of the MDOS - the Dimension Room. There were so many previous models of the Dimensional Scissors. So many dangerous models. So many. "Can I take one, Star?"

"Sure! I mean, you are the boyfriend of the princess. Go ahead," Star exclaimed. Marco was excited, about the scissors and a girlfriend. Even though he had heard it before, he got conflicted and tingly.

Marco grabbed the scissors in anticipation, but at that exact moment, a high-pitched alarm went off.

"Intruders!!!" screamed two bulky guards. They charged at full speed, tackling Star and Marco to the ground. Stunned, Marco got up, ready to fight if he had to.

"Marco, don't!" Star whispered. "I can handle this."

"How dare you, trying to break into the MDOS! We should kill you right at this instant," said the guards in unison, grabbing their clubs.

"If you lay a finger on me or Marco, I'll tell my dad!"

"And who would that be, little girl?"

"THE KING."

The guards' faces dropped. Their clubs clattered to the floor. "We are so sorry, Princess! Let us help you up. Would you like a tour?" Star looked back at Marco, as he mouthed the word 'Please' in the background.

"Yes," she finally answered.

"OK, men, follow her closely. We'll get her this time," said Ludo. His minions followed closely behind.

"Wait, why are we here again?" said Spikeballs, in the back as always.

"TO CAPTURE THE PRINCESS!" said everyone else.

They trekked on, losing sight of their surroundings in this scientific labyrinth.

"Where is Star Butterfly? I want the wand!" Ludo whined.

Suddenly, they heard a sound. A sound distinguishable by all of them. The laugh of Star Butterfly.

"Follow that laugh!!!"

The monsters sprinted until they came to a door. However, it was locked.

"Wait, Man-Arm, give me a lift! I can see through the holes!"

After struggling to keep himself balanced, Ludo watched them as closely as possible.

"Hello, Princess. This is our latest experiment. We have figured out a way to create a portal to jump across the multiverse, instead of just dimensions. This is project M.E.W.N.-E. : Mewnian Extra-Dimensional World Navigation Extension," said a scientist. He started to flip some switches, and pressed a button. Instantly, a purple, swirling portal opened up.

"Excellent," Ludo squealed. "With that portal, I can control everything. Even reality itself!" He cackled an old, evil cackle.

But at that moment, suddenly, something went terribly wrong.

//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

The portal shuddered. The boundaries broke. The equipment started to spark, and go haywire. Things were definitely wrong.

"Star, RUN!" Marco yelled at the top of his lungs. However, his efforts, were sadly in vain, for Star could not hear him, or anything. She tripped over the wires, and fell into the portal.

Marco sprinted after her. But the portal collapsed. A shockwave was sent across the room. Marco was blown across the room. He hit a wall, and passed out.

After 30 minutes, Marco finally awoke. He had no idea where he was, or how he fell. He saw some scientists huddled on the other side of the room.

"We had no idea it was going to do that!" said one.

"Well, we need to get her back!" said another.

"It'll take us a week to build another portal, let alone start it up!" said the third.

Marco's memories came rushing back. He remembered the lab, the portal, and the accident. He fell to the ground, clutching his chest in emotional agony.

"Goodbye, Star," he said, before collapsing into tears.
