"Woah, woah, woooooah! Garnet? Amethyst? Pearl? Peridot? Emerald? Connie? Where are you guys? .....where am I?" Steven yelled. Or at least attempted to, because as the words left his mouth, they quickly hushed to a silence. Where Steven was... that was a question he simply could not answer. Steven was in the Void, an inter-dimensional refuge that Gems sometimes were left in when a Warp Pad was broken. It was unbeknownst to Any of the other gems where he was. All he could do, all he could think, was wait. Wait. Wait some more. Until he heard something. A voice. A girls voice. He began to move, closer now. He was tired of waiting, anyway. "Hello? Hello? Who's there? Do you know where we are? Do you know how to get out of here? Can you help me? Im just really confused..." He inched ever closer. Then, a flash. A blinding light hit him. The smell of cupcakes and raspberries flooded over him. But as he felt the sweetness more time, he was hit with a wave of pain. He heard the voice again, louder. "What have I done..." it said. But before he could answer, he passed out.

"Marcooooo!!!" Star yelled. It was dark, except for a few stars in the distance. Star had been awake for an entire four hours in this place. She didn't like it. Not only could she not see Marco, but she couldn't talk to Mr. or Mrs. Diaz, she couldn't go to the mall with Ponyhead, she couldn't fight Ludo... oh no. She couldn't fight Ludo! Or any monsters, for that matter! She had to get out of here, FAST. She grabbed her Dimensional Scissors, cut a portal, closed her eyes, and ran - well, swam - straight through to the other side. Smooth transfer. "Yay! I made it back- WHAT?" The portal she opened took her straight back to the Void. She opened another portal, and another, and another, and another. They all took her back to the Void. "NO..... NO..... NO!!!!!!" Out of anger, and desperation, Star made a final attempt. She took out her wand, ready to cast a spell. But this time, she went Super-Mewman.
"HYPER NARWHAL PORTAL ESCAPE!!!!!!" A portal was created, the size of a black hole. Still in her ultimate form, she flew into the portal, and saw... a monster. A single, small, unaccompanied monster. Right in her line of fire. She drew back her wand, ready to cast the spell, the ultimate, crushing blow, that would kill a normal human, more so a monster. But then, it turned around. It wasn't a monster. It was a boy. Super-Mewman powers fading, she did everything in her power, everything under her control to try and stop that spell. But it was already too late. With a blast that blew Star back a good number of feet, the spell launched towards him.
Star had lost it. Her desperation to leave the prison that she was in had led her to hallucination. Even worse, that hallucination led her to kill someone. She paddled her way across the empty space, up to her unintentional victim. It was just a boy - in fact, a fourteen year-old boy, the same age as her. He had chubby cheeks, curly hair, and a salmon shirt with a yellow star on it. "Oh no... what have I done," she weeped. "That's it. I have to find a way out of here. SOMEONE has to save him." There wasn't any time left to procrastinate. But the first thing to do was keep him alive.
An hour passed. Two hours. Three hours. Four. Five. He wasn't moving. Didn't even seem to be breathing. It was probably too late. Star continued to cry, holding the boy in her caring, regretful arms. But then she noticed something. He had a little pink gemstone, right where his belly button should've been. Probably taped there. She tried to take it off, as a remembrance artifact. But no matter how hard she pulled, how rough she tugged, it wouldn't budge. That's when she realized - he wasn't human. He could still be alive. Then, with a gasp, and a shudder, the carcass woke up, reanimated itself even. Star was startled. But more than that, she was relieved.
////////////////////////////////////|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\Steven woke up, as if out of a dream. When he opened his eyes, he saw a girl, with blonde hair, blue eyes, a teal dress, and... horns? That wasn't right. He looked again. Yep, definitely horns. "Wow... cool horns, girl."
Star somehow took offense to this. "How dare you! One, this is just a headband, I'm not some monster! Two, this 'girl' has a name that you should very well know, as I'm your Princess, you dum-dum!
"We don't have a princess in Beach City, just the mayor, Bill Dewey, and his son Buck. We're good friends.
"Wait, where do you come from, strange guy? Star was puzzled. Marco never said anything about Beach City, and he knew every city on Earth.
"Beach City. You know, right by Empire City, and Keystone, and... Jersey."
"None of these places are on Earth... Or at least my Earth... Oh my god! You're from another dimension, like me!"
Steven's mouth was gaped in shock. "Another WHAT? Oh wait.... The Universe Warp! It must have taken me here! But then that means we've come from 2 different universes.... Cool!" I've never met anyone from the another universe. I'm Steven, the Crystal Gem!"
"Glad to meet you. I'm Star Butterfly, Princess of Mewni."
And then they both said the same thing, as if out of the pages of the Book of Destiny itself: "Its been about 10 hours, so how do we get out of here?"
But time had travelled much faster than they thought.
